Trying to Blog from Bed... (ichi)

I could go back downstairs and get my laptop, but meds have my head and stomach swimming. We have a cold front coming through in a few days, and I'm praying that my sinuses don't get worse...
Anyway, being sick is giving me a chance to use some images I colored ages ago on some cards. First is this image from A Day for Daisies that was colored last summer. (This is what I was going to use when my father reiterated his request for "old people"...)

A Summer Haiku for You

Oh, the summer heat
You make me wish for the spring
Sweat is like clothes glue

Yeesh! I know a lot of you are in the middle of the super summer heat right now and can relate to my woes. I'm not the biggest fan of extreme temperatures; I don't know which I dislike more - extreme heat or cold. Do you know what I mean? Despite my feelings about the heat, I am a bit of a beach bum. I think I might need to get to the beach in the next couple of weeks and make use of some of this heat. :D

On a card-related note, this week the team at Little Miss Muffet Stamps has some inspiration for you! I used Paprika as Raggedy Ann and the awesome Park Glen Door Die for my card.

Do you ever notice things on your cards' photos that you didn't see in life?

I still have my Raggedy Anne doll from my childhood! And Orange Blossom (Strawberry Shortcake's friend), and my Cabbage Patch doll whose name just happened to by Cory Trina!

Okay, just a reminder that the Sparkle Challenge is still going. I hope to see you there!

Oh Dad!

First, I just want to remind you that the party is still rocking at The Outlawz! If you haven't made it over yet to enter one of the challenges or to pick up the exclusive, FREE digi from MayzyArt, what are you waiting for?? All of the party games, challenges, and our awesome digi are in the same place - hover over 2000 Member Party to get started! **UPDATE: WE JUST EXTENDED THE PARTY!! With vacations and getting out of school, we figured some of you could use some extra time to party! We will start regular challenges next week, but the party will still be rolling until July 7.

AND, if you didn't get the email, did you see that Blitsy has Distress Markers? I checked my favorite online store, and I have to say that Blitsy has the price beat! Every order I've made from Blitsy came quickly so I feel like I can recommend them with confidence...

Okay, on to cards! My father asked me a couple of weeks ago to make some cards for 2 of my aunts and my uncle. I asked him about the style of card he wanted. "Old people!" he responded. I even tried making a sweet card for one of my aunts, and he was like, "Uh-uh! I don't want that girl! Unless you have a saying like, 'I know you can't remember being this young'!" :D That guy... Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the first one as I was rushing so he could come get it and mail it in time to get to his sister for her birthday.  The other two are below...

Loads of Layers!

A couple of weeks ago, I went to get some refills from Oozak and saw some paper that I'd just seen on a YT vid; I had to have it! I have been telling myself that I need to stop buying paper until I get through some of the paper that I've been kind of avoiding. Do you have paper like that? I have some packs that I really only like a few of the sheets; the other pages are like eh... (Sorry BasicGrey, but the Hopscotch and Cupcake packs jumped to the front of my mind when I typed that...) But yeah, the paper I had to have is Sidewalks from October Afternoon. I think it's old, but I didn't care!

Then, Barbara at Little Miss Muffet Stamps put up the new releases last week, and I had the perfect image! I made a card using the then-current sketch at Graphicat, then noticed that almost everyone on the team used the same image. So I made last week's LMMS card and moved this card to our current challenge, Loads of Layers!!

I know a lot of you layer to perfection, so I expect to see a lot of entries in this challenge! Remember that you don't have to use a LMMS stamp, but if you do, the challenge is Anything Goes!
