Sharing!

So, on Saturday my online buddy Tina challenged a couple of ladies on Scraps of Color to make SOMETHING. The original request was for a scrapbook layout or two, but she bent the rules for me since I don't scrap. We were all supposed to report in around midnight with our finished projects. Well, I decided to go waaaay out on a limb and finish the CD case mini album I started a YEAR ago!

I ended up putting the cover on the front. It got a little dirty, so I used Mod Podge to seal it.

There a mini version of a portrait that Robert Jackson drew for me last year. The big version is AMAZINGLY detailed and looks just like the picture!

Since I'm not really a scrapper AND this needed to stay thin enough for the CD cover to close, there aren't any embellishments.

I'm going to take a little nap. Sandi is an awesome ego booster! I sent her my first sketch (pre-editing even!), and she colored it up, put it in a challenge, and sent it to me! It looks great!

This card has Cheers Kaylee from Some Odd Girl looking like how I want to right now - smiling on the beach with a cool drink in hand! The sentiment was created with a Lawn Fawn alphabet set, and the brads are from Eyelet Outlet.

Stars & Stripes Challenge at Guylou's!

Happy Canada Day! I'm so not Canadian, but I don't feel like you have to be a part of some group to wish someone a good day... Every year on certain holidays, I'll answer the phone and say, "Happy (insert holiday here)!" Invariably, at least one person on the other end will respond, "I'm not a ___ (mom/dad/grandparent, etc.)" or "I don't celebrate ___" SO WHAT? It's not much different than me saying "Happy Friday," is it? If I were wishing someone a happy birthday or anniversary or graduation on the wrong day, that would be  one thing. A holiday? Stop trippin'! Yes, ranting... Sorry!

Anyway, just in time for Canada Day and Fourth of July, Sara chose Stars and Stripes for the new challenge at Guylou's Inimitability!  Don't think you have to try to make something patriotic; I see projects all the time with these two elements on them that have nothing to do with national pride. Go look, the DT and GDT Melissa Sackman have created a mix of cards that are all fabulous! (And a big congrats to Sara for making the Create with TLC DT!)

I'm thinking of throwing a sentiment on this card, but I still don't know what I want it to say. I want something summer-y since that's what sparklers make me think of. When I was a kid, I used to love trying to draw things with them!
