SOC 8th Anniversary Blog Hop

To commemorate Scraps of Color's 8th birthday, I have teamed up with some super talented ladies to share projects based on the celebrations in our lives. We wanted to have this special blog hop to celebrate this great crafting community where we laugh, play, and create together and encourage and inspire one another.

Blog Hop Candy: The Good Life paper pack by Fancy Pants Designs (includes 12 double sided papers, sticker and die cut sheets. Matching layered stickers, a small black shadowbox tray, and American Crafts 24 pack of bakers twine--12 different colors (120 yards total).

Of course, a blog hop isn't complete without blog candy! There will be giveaways on various blogs throughout the hop! Plus there will be a SOC blog hop gift awaiting one visitor!! As soon as I glued down that text paper, I realized that y scrap sheet wasn't cut straight so the whole card looks crooked!

I was supposed to be sharing a mini album (!!) today, but since I've been so tired after work, it still needs a whole lot of work. Instead I have a graduation card that my cousin asked me to make for her husband's aunt who is getting her master's degree on Sunday. Go auntie!! (I literally just finished...) The image is from Jackson's Digital Expressions.

My cousin also asked me to make a retirement card for one of her coworkers. I should be finishing that up soon and will update my post.**UPDATE** Since my cousin really likes this card with MelJen's Army Bear I went with the same feel for her requested card.

I only ever see troops in the desert uniform, but my parents were both in the military and this is what theirs looked like. Plus, I don't have any sand camo paper!

Honestly, I've never been so happy to be able to look at something I already colored while I was coloring. I was able to figure out the colors and not have to do much thinking... I used some Lawn Fawn alphabet stamps on the inside, but you know I didn't take a picture of that before running to the post office! ;D

I Went to a Crop!

I went to an all-day crop on Saturday and had an awesome time. You know I couldn't go and scrap anything, though; I had some fun with cards! Sorry for not really editing these, but you can click them to see the bigger versions.

A lady at crop wanted a duplicate of one of my cards for her daughter who is going to college this week. A smudge from my stamp cleaning pad led to extra bling! :D

My bf's mom needed a card for one of her coworkers who recently lost his wife. A nice lady at the crop made those shapes for me on her Cricut. I had to add some pearls to disguise the fact that I stamped way off to the side. You know how I do!

Yeah, I was there about 11 hours and only made 5.5 cards! (The sympathy card was finished on Sunday...) I am what I am! :D

Totally unrelated, but I so want to see The Bourne Legacy and ParaNorman! Did you see anything while I was at the crop?

This was going to be for a Vietnam Vet, hence the jungle BDUs. Unfortunately, before I could even get it finished word was posted that he passed away. Maybe I can make another one of these and give the set to my parents; they're both USAF vets.
