CDAC Heart Hop!

So, this morning I completed the Heart Hop over on Crafter's Digital Art Center (CDAC). CDAC is a great place to be a member if you like using digi stamps. You'll get to see some designers you may have never heard of (plus well-known folks too), and there are always challenges and free digis somewhere on the site. You know I really like that free part, right? :D  Anyway, the hop wasn't super long, and at the end there was a gang of free stamps from all of the artists who participated! There were also coupons and extra drawings along the way... If you want to join in, the hop is going until 9pm PST on Jan 30.

Here's a card I made with the Heart Hop freebie from Guylou's Inimitability...

You can't really tell from my pic, but the heart is 3D. I printed it 3 times and cut out the pieces. My technique could use a little work still... I made the background in MS Word using Pea Devon font from KevinandAmanda.com then I traced over the hearts with a silver gel pen. The paper in the back is from a scrapbook page kit from Me & My Big Ideas.

Okay, I kept it short so you could go get yourself some free stuff!

Maybe Not as Slow as Molasses...

Hey! Thank you all so much for letting me know that I'm not a complete slow poke! Some days I feel like I am really moving in slow motion. Those days, the only way I know I've been working is to look at the growing mess/mass (pick one) of crafting supplies on the table...  :D

I know it's only been a few weeks, but hopefully you know that Wednesday is Sketch Challenge day at The Outlawz! Here is this week's sketch:

And here's my card...

That is Kissy from Mo Manning; is she not adorable?! (FYI - Since I started taking online Copic coloring classes, I've been doing a better job of taking notes when I make cards so I can tell you  colors for things if you'd like to know.) The paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Pixie-licious collection. Love it! I have a problem using patterned paper; I don't want to cut it! I'm a mini paper hoarder, but I'm so "frugal" that I don't want to use any of it. When I see cards that Carmen or Dorcas have made, I'm always amazed by how many layers of paper they use. (Plus their cards are wonderful!) Just know that I'm trying...  The little sweetheart stamp is from Craftsmart aka the $1 bin at Michaels. I used some Colorbox inks for the hearts and was very happy with how close to matching the paper they were!

I just got home from a half day doctor's appointment visit (not for me; I'm ok) and remembered that I have some cards due soon... I have to get to work - especially since I'm so slow!  ;)

Challenges: Bearly Mine Challenges - #2 Recipe (3 flowers, 2 PP, 1 image), A Spoonful of Sugar - Valentine's, Stampavie and More - #126 Love, Fab N Funky - #57 Digis, The Sisterhood of Crafters - Anything Goes

300 + Me! Celebration at Guylou's Inimitability

Hey! I know you weren't expecting another post from me so soon, but I have great news to share. Guylou's Inimitability has over 300 members on Crafter's Digital Art Center!! There will be some things happening in the group that you'll want to be a part of, so if you aren't already a member, now's the time to sign up!  As I've told you before, there are goodies to be had as a member of the group, and if you go check, you just might find a little something special to celebrate this milestone...  :D

As part of our celebration, the DT at Guylou's has decided to take a little stroll down memory lane. We're having a little blog hop and sharing a few of our favorite projects made with Guylou's Inimitability digi stamps!  The hop starts at Guylou's Inimitability then comes right here. If you're here just because you like me, thanks! (You'll want to stop over there to do the hop though...)  The hop is jumping (ha!) until 9 pm EST tonight...

Here are a few of my favorites!

This card just makes me smile when I look at it. I really like how it looks in real life with the glittery stars and glazed pumpkins. Plus, Chuck's so stinkin' cute!

This card featuring Gertrude reminds me of my grandmother. Her birthday is in a few days, but no, she's not getting this card!  ;)

This card with Gabrielle is the first one I made with a Guylou's Inimitability stamp. I just love her happy, peaceful face!

It was hard not to put them all my GI cards up here; I like all of them for a reason that I wanted to share... The next stop is Kim at It's All About Crafting!

Red Challenge at Guylou's!

How long should making a card take? It takes me what I think is a long time, and it seems like a lot of that time is just looking through paper... I only ask because my wonderful father called me last night and asked me to make a card for my grandmother. I have to take my uncle to the doctor in a little while, and I'm not sure if this card (that I haven't started yet) will make it into the mail today... I was just wondering about your card making time so I can see if I'm average or need to pick up the pace...

On a totally unrelated note, a new challenge is starting today at Guylou's Inimitability! The challenge is RED, and we want to see some projects featuring that color.  The challenge runs until February 3, at 10 p.m. EST. The winner of the challenge gets a guest spot on the design team and some free digi stamps. If you'd like to use a GI digi on your card/project, head over to the store. (Or for some free ones, click the "guylou's" tag on this post to read how you can get FREE stuff. I don't feel like typing it again!) If you're working on Valentine's Day cards, there's no reason for you not to join the challenge!

The DT cards are smoking on this challenge! Here's mine using the Cupid stamp:

I really like the coloring on this stamp, but my card feels like it needs something extra. I'm not sure what though and probably won't mess it up attempt to fix it before I give it away...

Umm... Duh!

Whoo! I need a moment of silence for operator error! I had just written up some stuff about Blogger and how I couldn't post this message earlier today because of some issues, only to find that those issues were way too easily solved! I'm talking a one-click-of-the-mouse solution! I'm ok...  :)

Anyway, today is Wednesday which means another sketch challenge at The Outlawz! Here's a shot of the sketch:

And here's the card I made:

That cute little guy is Kuthbert from Pollycraft. (There are some really cute holiday digis over there on sale right now...)  He's been colored with Copics and propped up on some paper from The Paper Studio's Sugar and Spice stack. The little white hearts are scraps from using the Heartbeat punch from MS. (Did I already tell you all how much I love that punch? If not, I love it to pieces!) Making Memories's Metro Mini Shimmer Alpha stickers in white make the sparkly sentiment, and the dots are from a Sakura white Gelly Roll pen.

**Thank you so much to my followers who have joined us at The Outlawz! I hope all of you make it over there and join the challenges. As a reminder, a different type of challenge starts every day. I think there should be something there that interests you!

Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz!

So yesterday was the start of the color challenge at The Outlawz. The colors for the week are pink, red, and white. If you're busy working on your Valentine cards, this might be the challenge for you!!

Since today is Wednesday, the challenge that starts today is a sketch challenge. I'm on the sketch DT, and would be SO happy if some of you joined in this week! Here's the card I made for the week:

I'm going to send this card to my grandmother for her birthday. Before you ask, that is not a young lady with gray hair; this girl represents my grandmother. Kind of... Her hair isn't long and hasn't been naturally gray in years, but she is about this color and wears gray wigs...  (Don't y'all tell her I put her business out in the street like that!!) The image is Flying Birthday Girl from Michelle Perkett Studio and has been colored with Copics. All the paper is from The Paper Studio; the cupcake paper is from the Sugar and Spice stack. The heart brads are from Making Memories. They were also colored with Copics. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. You guys know I don't have a a Cuttlebug or a neat Cricut or Silhouette, right? That border at the bottom is really the top of a piece of paper that was hit with the Heartbeat MS punch! I was trying to use it on the front but couldn't figure out how to make that work, so...

Don't forget to stop by The Outlawz! And if you enter challenges, don't forget that Guylou's Inimitability's challenge is Anything Goes!

Challenges: The Crafty Pad - Anything Goes, Blackleaf Studios - Fun Food, Top Tip Tuesday - #17 Anything Goes, Kaboodle Doodles - #49 Do it with Digis, The Sisterhood of Crafters - Birthdays

Snow Day!!

Hey! It snowed last night, and the kids up the street have been outside playing ALL day! Usually when it snows here, it's about a quarter of an inch, it melts before you can enjoy it, or the good snow is immediately followed by icy rain. We got a good 4-5 inches of snow from what I can tell from the comfortable inside of the house...

I just wanted to share a few things with you. (I did make a card today, but you can't see it until Wednesday. Sorry.) First, Jak Heath has gotten a few awesome digi stamp makers together to create a set of digis to help a fellow crafter named Katie. I don't know Katie, but I do know she's a mother of three young boys and has recently started treatment for stage 4 stomach cancer. You can get the set for 15 pounds. (Today, that's $24 according to PayPal.) It's a good value and for a good cause; check it out...

On a brighter note, The Outlawz opened today! If you didn't see the post yesterday, The Outlawz is a ning site that offers a new challenge every day for card makers, scrapbookers, and altered media artists. Here's how the challenges are set up: Monday - Birthday, Tuesday - Color, Wednesday - Sketch, Thursday - Prisma and other Mediums, Friday - Copic, Saturday - Scrapbooking, and Sunday - Clean and Simple.  Today is Monday, so the challenge is Birthday. This week's birthday challenge is Anything Goes! I heard a little something about this week's new members being entered into a drawing for a gift certificate to SCACD, so you might want to check it out!!

Do you love challenges?

You'll have to wait until tomorrow to sign up, but The Outlawz will have a new challenge every day! And a little birdie told me that there will be a giveaway at the end of the week that all new members will automatically be entered into!

If you're interested, The Outlawz is currently looking for a few more DT members. If you don't mind dealing with a group of chatty, silly women and delight in scrapbooking, love CAS cards, or enjoy color and sketch challenges, this could be your shot! Send either 3 examples of your work or your blog address along with your name, email address, and the reason you'd be a good Outlaw to Colleen at sweater32@aol.com.

Can't wait to see you over there tomorrow!!

**Don't forget the challenge at Guylou's Inimitability is Anything Goes!!

Anything Goes at GI!

Hey! First, I'd like to give a big thanks to Tricia at SupahWoman... for giving me a Stylish Blogger Award. I was recently given that award by some of my other blogging buddies, and I'm too lazy to come up with another eight things about myself to tell. Thank you so much for thinking of me though!

Second, you need to know that the new challenge at Guylou's Inimitability is Anything Goes!! There's been a slight change in our challenge rules; hopefully, you'll make it over to play! So you know, if you enter the challenge without a GI stamp, you'll get one entry. If you use a GI digi stamp, you'll get two entries. If you use the featured digi stamp for this challenge, Angela, you'll get three challenge entries! If you're in need of a Guylou's Inimitability digi, check out the GI store OR you can sign up to follow the GI blog or join our group on CDAC and get a FREE digi stamp. The challenge is open until January 20 at 10 p.m. EST; I can't wait to see what you make!!

Here's my card using the Angela digi stamp:

Isn't she too much riding her scooter in a dress? :) I used the sketch from... somewhere. (Oops, I'm typing this post at a friend's house and don't have my trusty notebook. I'll fix it later.) Ah... Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #98. I waited too late to link up my card though.

Okay, you have until January 20 to scoot over to Guylou's Inimitability's blog to link your project. Remember, you'll get to see my smiling face in your comments section once you make that happen! If that isn't incentive... ;-D

Challenges: Alphabet Challenge - J for Journey, Stamp Something - January Digi Day, Stampin' for the Weekend - New & Blue (new stamp, punch & dp; don't tell my people!), Southern Girls Challenge - #9 Anything Goes, Paper Crafting Journey - #1 Let's Get Digital.

Thanks for stopping by! + Baby Card

WOW! Yesterday started a little blog loving session over on Feline Playful. I have been having a blast going to all the different blogs and seeing people's work. And I'm really thankful for all the nice comments that folks have been leaving me. Please know that I check Google Reader whenever I have a moment of free time and will be reading what you post on your blog. I may not show up every day, but you should expect to see my little face in your comments from time to time.

I do have a card to share that I finished this morning. Unfortunately, I'm not at home so I can't get the good pics off my camera, but I did take some pictures on my phone. When I get to my camera cable I'll upload a better picture without my fingernails hanging out on the side...  :D  **The new pic is on the right...**

This card is for my BF's nephew who was baptized this morning. I used sketch #33 from the AnnaBelle Bling Sketch Challenge. The digi is a brand new stamp from Mo Manning. (A lady soon to have new grandsons and I asked for some boys when Mo put out those beautiful "Baby Girl" stamps the other day...) The stamp was colored with Copics, the buttons are by Making Memories, and the paper is DCWV's Linen Closet and some shimmery paper from Colorbox. The font is Sue Ellen Francisco; there's a scripture on the inside (Isaiah 46:4)...

It seems like everyone has a "new" challenge for the new year. Since this card is for a relatively new baby and is to celebrate his new dedication to Christ, I'm going to enter a gang of them just for the fun of it!
