Catching Up (part 2): It's Gwen!

I Heart U Gwen from Some Odd Girl colored with Copics

I made this card a couple of weeks ago in the middle of making another card. I was working on this card, and when I got stuck, I ended up making this one! I almost want to add something to the left side for balance but I don't really know what. SO... I've left it alone for the last couple of weeks. And I think I will continue to leave it just the way it is...  Sorry for the super short post, but I have to get some shut eye before work tomorrow. That will be my 4th "official" work day since the end of January. I'm not quite back in the swing of waking up before the sun rises...

Gwen is My Favorite Oddie!

I just got some Xpress it paper, and my E15 keeps pulling the color off the layers underneath. Any tips?

As one of the folks who was bothering Kristy for a curly Oddie, I feel it's only right that I repay her by actually acquiring and USING the Gwen stamps from Some Odd Girl.  This week, I used Party Dress Gwen and Paris Girl papers from Carta Bella on a card for the Sketch Challenge on The Outlawz. Since I'm up waaaaay past my bedtime, I'm going to be brief! Digistamps4joy is sponsoring the Sketch challenges for July, and there is a gang of prizes throughout the site. (There is sounds wrong, but after teaching collective nouns in tutorial last week, I feel like it must be correct. ??  Y'all know I have grammar issues...)

Here is the sketch if you'd like to play along:

It's Summer!

Summer!! YES!! I have been itching to get back to crafting after not making anything since the very beginning of March. I did stamp some treat bags for my kids for their end of the year party, but as there was no coloring, cutting, pasting, that didn't really count!

My teammates on The Outlawz have been great in my absence; no one has grumbled-at least not to me-about my lack of projects or comments. They don't even know how thankful I am for that. I kept up my other duties there (monthly prizes, setting up Inlinkz, etc.), but I let crafting go. You folks who work, have kids, and craft are some really awesome folks! I don't have the time management skills for that! Maybe had they diagnosed my ADD when I was young someone could have helped me with some strategies...

Anyway, my project is for this week's Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz. As usual, I'm pushing the sketch!

Sketch:

My project:
Why does this look fuzzy?? GRR! Anyway, that's super adorable Content Ollie from Some Odd Girl!

I have three TGF stamps colored and papers picked so I should be back with some more cards soon. Thanks again for praying for my mom! Her name is Barbara, and we appreciate your prayers more than you know!  :D

Trying to Blog from Bed... (ni)

And here's another card I made today. I had the hardest time cutting paper while making this card. As a result, this card is no where near standard size. I think it works since the image is small. I colored the dress of this Some Odd Girl stamp around when I first started making cards, and she finally made it to a card! (There are fully colored stamps on the page; let's see how long it takes...)

Trying to Blog from Bed... (ichi)

I could go back downstairs and get my laptop, but meds have my head and stomach swimming. We have a cold front coming through in a few days, and I'm praying that my sinuses don't get worse...
Anyway, being sick is giving me a chance to use some images I colored ages ago on some cards. First is this image from A Day for Daisies that was colored last summer. (This is what I was going to use when my father reiterated his request for "old people"...)

Do You Ever...

want to just post a pic with a link and be done? This morning, I woke up about every 6 - 8 mins starting around 4 am. At 5:05 I decided to not wait for the alarm and got up. I undid my hair then realized that I was working way closer to home today and didn't need to be up yet. So I set the alarm for 25 mins later and laid back down. Less than 10 mins later, I was wide awake and back up. Unfortunately that did not last. I was so sleepy today! I actually felt my head rolling while I was walking around! Who falls asleep standing up??   o_O

Not that I've had a nap or anything now... I had stuff to do! I hope you don't feel cheated by this post. I mean, I did tell you all about my day, didn't I? :D

This card started as a breast cancer challenge card on Scraps of Color, but I changed it a little for this week's Sketch Challenge on The Outlawz!
I felt like someone might give me some flak for a semi-sexy angel with a scripture, but then I thought how I'm still young and don't want all of my angels to be stuffy. As there are women younger than I am with breast cancer, I know at least one of them would like an angel that reminds her of herself...

Here's the sketch if you want to play...

Another simple sketch! No excuses... See you in the challenge!

*I'm giving something away again this week. You might want it. Go back one post...

SOG for the Outlawz!

This week's sketch challenge at The Outlawz had me confused (again, right?).  I pulled myself together late last night and got on it, though! I can't tell you how many different ideas I had for this card before finally deciding on one and putting a card together. I was so sleepy while I was making the card, plus it was my week to do the challenge so I had even more to do once I finished it.

Weird colors b/c I misplaced my camera...again.
I used Baby Snuggle Kaylee from Some Odd Girl and some stamps from Lawn Fawn's Plus One set to make a card for this sketch...

Hope to see you in the challenge! We have a great sponsor for the challenge AND for the site this month!

**Challenges: The Paper Studio - Anything Goes, Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes, Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes, Creative Craft Challenges - Anything Goes

Happy 4th! + Sketch!

Hey! I hope you enjoy your 4th whether you're here in the States or not. Since this 4th is on a Wednesday, I have a card for the Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz!

This card has Cheers Kaylee from Some Odd Girl looking like how I want to right now - smiling on the beach with a cool drink in hand! The sentiment was created with a Lawn Fawn alphabet set, and the brads are from Eyelet Outlet.

If you want to play along this week, here is the sketch:

This month, our own Pat is sponsoring the Sketch Challenge and is offering a $20 gift certificate to Oozak.com! Plus, all of our monthly site-wide sponsors - Oozak, Jackson's Digital Expressions, Color Me Creative Classroom, Paper Temptress, and Gilli Stamps - have prizes! Smile!!

It's time for a new Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz!  This week I chose the super adorable Ollie Glee from Some Odd Girl and Smitty's ABCs and Say Cheese from Lawn Fawn for my card.  As usual, I got ink on my finger and messed up my sentiment circle. HELLO rhinestones!! I took that circle off later as I wanted this to be a cleaner looking card. I will redo it and, hopefully, won't have to add rhinestones or pearls or ribbon or any of those other embellishments I use to hide mishaps!

Here's the sketch!
Not that you should need encouragement to play at The Outlawz, but just in case you do, this month the Sketch Challenge is being sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps! And anyone who enters a challenge can enter to win our site-wide prizes, which include goodies from Oozak, Paper Temptress, and more!

**Challenges: Oozak - Anything Goes, Simon Says Stamp and Show - Anything Goes, Whoopsi Daisy - Anything Goes, The Cutie Pie Challenge - Circles

SOG for the Sketch!

I'm rushing. I'm woofing down my breakfast before heading out to work.  BUT, since I hate not posting the sketch for the Sketch Challenge on The Outlawz until it's late, I'm on it now.

Here's my card:
I should have put her eye specks on the other side! Oops!! I didn't see this stamp last night in the SOG store; I got mine at Oozak.com where it is still in stock.

I've had papers picked and Hollyday Gwen from Some Odd Girl mostly colored since January; I was supposed to be making my BF a Valentine's Day card. I couldn't figure out how I wanted to color the dress or how I wanted to lay out the papers and stamp! SO... maybe I'll give it to him as a surprise over the weekend.  I tried something different when coloring Gwen. I was thinking about how I'm pretty yellow under my brown, and tried coloring her skin in one of the yellows (I think it was Y04.) before I went in with the normal browns. I think it came out nice!

Here's the sketch:
As usual, I had to do a little something different...

Please remember that the Sketch Challenge has Guylou's Inimitability ($20) and Paper Temptress (20 sheets of Cryogen) as its sponsors this month. This is the last challenge for the month; make sure you play along! An entry into any of the challenges at The Outlawz this month also puts you in the running for prizes from Oozak, Gilli Rubber Stamps, Paper Temptress, and Color Me Creative Classroom!!

Challenges: My Mum's Craft Shop - Stamp It, Divas by Design - Stamp Something, Creative Mondays - Anything Goes, Ladybug Crafts Ink - Spots & Stripes (my spots are really hearts)

Gotta Run!

Sorry, I need to get the hour and a half of sleep I can before I have to get up to work. SO...this post is super short! The new challenge at Little Miss Muffet is to create an easel, step, or shaped card. I have made a circle card using Elizabeth Louise Hatter, DeLovely papers from Cosmo Cricket, an awesome chipboard frame from Make It Crafty, and some gifted flowers from Bizzy Becs!  **Oops, I was rushing and forgot to add that the sentiment is from Some Odd Girl!

This is a bit bright. That chipboard is actually pale lime green. Auto-fix on Picnik isn't always right! :D

Off to catch a nap! I hope to see you in the challenge!

Challenges: The Paper Shelter - Anything Goes,  PaperCrafting Journey - Anything Goes, Crop Stop - 4 Colors, CCEE Stampers - Flowers

C'mon Black Friday!

Really, I'm excited about Black Friday. I usually go shopping with my mom in the wee hours of the morning; lately, though, we haven't found any deals worth getting up at 3 a.m. for. BUT, this year I'm excited because this darn Kohl's commercial will stop playing! I LOVE Kohl's! I mean, I've made MVC status in one trip before, but this Black Friday commercial is driving me insane and seems to come on every break... (I hope Rebecca Black got paid a grip for this. I had never seen her video for Friday until a minute ago.)

And just since I want to act mad about things... I ordered some Copic refills from Two Peas during the sale a couple of weekends ago. They've been floating around Atlanta since last Thursday and finally showed up at my house today. Let me show you some ridiculous nonsense...

Eight little bottles of refills in a 12x12x3 box??  I like Two Peas, but the shipping cost on these refills that take up less than an eighth of the box seems a bit crazy to me...

On a sweeter note, since I know that no one comes here just to read my rambling, here are a couple of cards I made for the June/July issue of Ready, Set, Create:

Heather Ellis digi + altered sentiment from TLC Creations

Best Friends digi from Whimsy and Stars Studio

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff sentiment with Cowboy Tobie from Some Odd Girl and digi paper from Peppermint Creative
The new issue is only a few days away!

Oh, Guylou's Inimitability is having a blog hop on Dec 3. It's only one day, so mark your calendar! There will be goodies all around!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Woohoo! Two more Christmas cards down! The first I made just because I saw this cute sheet in DCWV's Doodlin' Around stack and knew it would make for an easy, fun card...

That's Bright Lights Kaylee from Some Odd Girl getting her tree-trimming on! This card was really simple since all I had to do was color and cut out Kaylee and stamp a sentiment!

Challenges: Creative Craft Challenges - Minimalistic, Digital Tuesday Challenge - Christmas Time, Daisy Doodles - Anything Goes + a Digi

My second card is for this week's sketch at The Outlawz. Here is the sketch:
I used some paper (American Crafts + Dear Lizzy), a stamp and a snowflake sticker that were all on clearance back in the spring. I recently got some vellum, and this is pretty much the first time I've used it. After watching Kathy at The Daily Marker with all her vellum tricks, I went ahead and stamped and embossed my sentiment. The dew drop things I got from the awesome Piali last year with some Christmas goodies she gave away on her blog. Thanks again!

Challenges: Oldie But a Goodie - Let it Snow, Shopping Our Stash - Never Been Inked (sentiment)

Yes, I'm on Time!!

Hey everyone! Today is Wednesday aka Sketch Challenge Day at The Outlawz! We have a great sketch this week, and my fellow DT ladies have created some awesomeness to inspire you! (Just so you know, Sandi used an amazing hummingbird digi that she drew! She's supposed to add it to the Freebies section of The Outlawz soon; head on over to get all the digis she and Anne Fenton have served up!)

Sandi and Pattie's Creations (Pattie G) are both sponsoring the Sketch Challenge this month and are giving 3 digis a piece! Oozak is sponsoring all the challenges on the site and is offering a $50 gift certificate, AND Anary from Gilli Rubber Stamps has just signed on to give a member a Gilli Goodie Bag! I know you're ready to enter now that you've seen these awesome prizes, so here's the sketch for this week:
And here's my card made with Love Letter Kaylee from Some Odd Girl!

Kaylee was colored with Copics; her shoes are glittery from a Spica pen, but you can't really tell in the picture. All the papers came from a dollar pack from Target around Valentine's Day. (You know I love a bargain!) Colorbox ink is on the edges of the papers...

Hope to see you in the challenge! You still have until next Wednesday to enter any of the Sketch challenges from this month and be entered into the drawings for prizes!

Boo! Hiss! Boo!

All that is directed at my sinuses, which have been seriously crappy since a low pressure system moved through my area last week. I'm about 90% sure that last week's general garbage has become a full-fledged sinus infection, and I am so not happy. When I haven't been at work, I've wanted to do nothing more than close my eyes to ease the headaches and slow the post-nasal drip... (TMI?) Anyway, as a result, I don't have any of my projects finished for this week! But, I still want you to know what's going on, so...

This is the sketch for this week at The Outlawz!

Remember, we have a prize from 7 Kids College Fund for this month's sketch challenges! The site also has prizes from Oozak.com, SCACD, and Color Me Creative Classroom! You want to play along!!

Also, the new challenge at Guylou's Inimitability is May Flowers! You need to use this beautiful palette chosen by Brenda and include some flowers on your creation!

PLEASE check out the DT's projects! They are super! These colors really look wonderful together!

And lastly, this isn't a project that I missed, but I still wanted to share with you... The Odd Girl herself, Kristy, chibi'd me!

Check out the awesome job she did capturing my extra curly hair and my usual headband/scarf! LOVE it! If you want to get yourself chibi'd, click the badge in the sidebar or go straight over to Kristy's blog!

2 in 1!

It's after midnight, but I did finish this card before yesterday was over. I haven't put my batteries on the charger so the phone camera is still on duty. I've been trying to edit the pic in Picnik and since my monitor never shows pics right, I have to keep checking my changes on the phone... This picture looks like absolute garbage on my monitor.

This is Ice Cream Tia from Some Odd Girl. I used sketch #77 from Unscripted Sketches. They had a breast cancer awareness blog hop last weekend sponsored by my online buddy Anita from Anita Be Stampin. There were some great projects shown by the DT over there, and I won a prize!

I entered this card into Challenge 40 at Paper Sundaes - For Someone Little.

Spinning Wheels...

Hopefully, this will only be today's first card. I have so many cards floating in my head, and I'm doing a bad job of making them happen. My friend Hope asked me to make some cards for a bunch of different situations. We used to teach together, and a lot of the cards would be for school-related things. I've already colored some images and picked paper to go with them; however, I was trying to find a sketch or two to use to make sure I like the layout in the end.

I started this card with a sketch but didn't like how it was going. So, I just made it how I wanted. (Why not?) This little guy is Super Tobie from Some Odd Girl. Is he not just the cutest thing with undies outside of his pants? (Sorry the pic is a bit fuzzy. My rechargeable batteries need to be plugged in so I used my phone's camera. I think there's probably some oily finger goo on the lens, but I'm not planning to take the pic again right now. Maybe I'll change it later... Maybe. Nope! Unsharp Mask is my friend! Well, actually I did it too far, but...) Tobie was colored with a combination of Copics and my Staedtler colored pencils. I have some pastels that softened up his background. The paper is from Colorbok, but I couldn't find a name on the package. I got it from Target for a dollar... I used the ribbon loop punch from MS for the little border around Tobie, and the "WOW!" stamp is from Recollections.

One down!!  :)
