It's Halloween!

I hope you're having a wonderful day regardless of your feelings about Halloween! I tell you, it would be nice if we don't have any trick-or-treaters so I can continue snacking on these Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Reese's Pieces! I so shouldn't have opened that bag early...

Here are some cards I made for Halloween. I went the easy route and used the same colors and paper pad for all three. My table was a hot mess before I started, so I tried to keep from adding too much more to it.

123...Can You Scare Me?

Be prepared. The card below isn't my normal cute card.  The new challenge at Guylou's Inimitability is a recipe challenge called "123...Can You Scare Me?". As such, I had to attempt to make something scary following the 1 ribbon, 2 embellishments, and 3 patterned papers recipe.  Here's what I came up with using the Lotus is a Bride digi...

Yeah, I had fun with this one... :D
G is such a sweetie pie; she tried to draw up some images for this challenge, and everything she came up with is CUTE! (Franken-Miguel, Felicia Witch, and my Sneaker Witch) After seeing how my LMMS leader Barbara changed up those Magnolia stamps, I figured I could turn one of Guylou's adorable stamps into something spooky! Plus, I got the stash down a little bit more!! :D

If you'd like to play in the recipe challenge, you have until 10 pm EST on Nov 1 to get your spooky, dark, or gothic project linked up. I can't wait to see what y'all come up with!

LMMS Helps With the Stash!

Used some more of the K& Company pack and some of their puffy stickers. I even threw another rub-on on the inside for the sentiment! :D

The new challenge at Little Miss Muffet is Halloween Colors! How perfect for me as I'm working to shrink my Halloween crafting stash!  I am a fan of the traditional Halloween colors. If you want to play along but don't like Halloween, just use the colors! They look great together!

Knocking Down that Stash!

Every Halloween card gets me closer to not feeling bad when I go hit up the Halloween clearance soon! This card is for this week's Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz and uses a digi from A Day for Daisies that I colored LAST October, two Heidi Grace rub-ons (the spider and sentiment), some old K&Company paper, a little Recollections bat brad, and a chipboard sticker. All of these things have been in my stash for one or two Halloweens!

Here's the easy sketch for the week if you want to play along:

Thank you Sandi for a simple sketch! I've been too worn out to think hard on some of the recent ones...  I hope to see you over at the Sketch Challenge; we have a prize from Noor Design plus the great site-wide prizes from Oozak, Jackson's Digital Expressions, Paper Temptress, and MORE!!

**Challenges: Craft Your Passion - Witches,  Eureka Stamps - Halloween, Forever Friends - Halloween/Autumn, Lexi's Creations - Halloween

You know I believe that all posts need a pic. Here's one with an image from TLC Creations that I made last year for Ready Set Create. I might have posted it before, but I don't think so...

Well, I won't keep you waiting...The hop winner is Sheila H., and the winner of my prize for the SOC 8th Anniversary Blog Hop is Karen! Thanks so much to Cheryl for organizing the hop, Tiare for starting and running such an awesome group, and to you for stopping by and always being so sweet to me!

Barely Made It!

Well, it's still World Card Making Day somewhere! I made a card for the new challenge at Guylou's Inimitability; Chana challenged us to use our favorite fancy die. I used the adorable Felicia Witch with Pumpkin (comes with 2 images and a bonus for just $2!!) and the Mini Film Strip die from Die-namics. I told you I was going to start using my Halloween stash - those little pics in the film strip came from a sheet of paper that came in one of those Target Dollar Bin paper packs. Agh! I was about to type that I need to see if they have any new ones this year. Um... Trina, you don't NEED more Halloween paper! I'm so bad...  ;D

Hope to see you in the challenge! You could win some free digis and a guest design team spot!

Whatchamacallit

I just want to say that I love Whatchamacallit candy bars. Once upon a time, I used to pick them up when I'd be out shopping with my parents then years went by when I didn't see a single one! I got one today, and I'm trying to figure out if I want to wolf it now or savor it later...

Anyway, I managed to be good this week and got my card done for the Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz. I used Broomhilda from the now-closed (*sniff, sniff*) Anita Be Stampin, an ancient rub on, and some Jolee's sticker embellishments from clearance last year. I find it weird that I totally love Halloween papers and embellishments but then only make like two Halloween cards a year. I have a huge stash of OLD stuff that I'm going to try to throw on some cards this year...

Here's the sketch if you're interested in playing along. This month, the Sketch Challenge has an awesome sponsor, Noor! Design, and a gang of site-wide sponsors!

**Challenges: Addicted to Stamps and More - Halloween, Clear it Out - Orange, Purple, or Black or All Three

I Really Want Some Oreos!

Random, right? I've been eating a lot more fruits and veggies after watching Forks Over Knives on Netflix a few weeks ago. (Yes, I realize how people can turn data into just about whatever they want to, but I like having reasons to make myself eat better...) I just had a bowl of tomato soup and really want some Oreos now! I guess it's good I don't have any in the house; I can roll through half a row really quickly...

Anyway, I have a lot to share and don't want to make separate posts for all of it. So here we go!

First, a super big THANK YOU to:
  • My former Secret Pal, Shonda! She sent me an awesome Halloween card! (I think I haven't shared the card she sent before this, but I did get it, Shonda!)

  • BreAnn! I still haven't found the pics from the cards I sent her... She is a sweetie pie; she sent me a really cute Halloween card and bracelet that I'm almost too "fluffy" to wear. (see Oreo discussion above)  :D

  • Celeste, Yolie, and Gaby! I won a prize during Link Up for Pink; it arrived yesterday!
  • Bizzy Becs! I bought some images for the fundraiser for Lyndall and won a goodie bag! Sorry for the poor picture...

Next on the agenda is the new Sketch Challenge on The Outlawz.  I am still battling sinus issues brought on by the low pressure that ran through here last week. As such, I'm not really feeling well. I never seem to be at 100% (sinus issues, year-round allergies) so this really doesn't help... I didn't feel like getting out of bed to much before going to work yesterday. I had to throw my card together quickly before rushing out to work. No coloring this time! Some old K&Co paper and chipboard stickers I got on clearance last year came to my rescue!!

This is the sketch:

I have some bookmarks, too, but I'm going to save them until this weekend. I don't want to bore you to death!

Challenges: The Sisterhood of Crafters - Halloween, Tip Top Tuesday - Trick or Treat, Use it Tuesday - Colors - Orange, Black, or Purple, The Stamping Boutique - Spooky Scary Halloween

The Party is Rocking!!

Our party on The Outlawz has started and it is rocking! We have so many prizes and things for you to do this week! All of the challenges started today this week, and all are running through the week... If you aren't a member or haven't already checked out the goings-on, hurry on over!!

The sketch challenge this week is to use this sketch:

My card is made using a digi by fellow DT member Sandi and a stamp I got last year as part of some candy. I've been waiting for Halloween to come back around to use all the stamps and paper I racked up on last year! :D  (**Sandi has a tutorial for making homemade Flower Soft as part of our blog hop!)

As soon as I stuck the bear down, I thought I should have put a green mat around him. BUT, I used Scor-Tape, and that stuff is impossible to get back up!

I can't wait to see you on The Outlawz!!

First Flight

Boy! I stayed up so late last night because I wanted to finish this card... I only have around 35 Copic Markers, so I had to bust out my Staedtler colored pencils to help fill in some areas. I think it worked out a-ok. (I mean, I've made less than ten cards; I shouldn't expect perfection, right?) I think I'm going to enter this card into Die Cut Dreams' challenge #65 (Sweet Little Girls - digi) and Southern Girls Challenge (Anything Goes). I had a different card in mind for the Die Cut Dreams challenge, but who knows if I'll actually get it made... (I have those kind of problems...) :)

If you like this image, it's another one from A Day for Daisies. It was FREE to members of the ADFD group on Crafter's Digital Art Center. Tammy, ADFD's owner, is offering the group a sneak peek and a custom digi every week. I think you want to sign up...

Supplies: Black Cardstock - @the OFFICE; Moon - MS Cardstock cut with MS Circle Cutter, inked with Colorbox Inks; Starry Background - DCWV Rock Star Stack; Stars - beads from Hobby Lobby; Image - "First Flight" from A Day for Daisies, colored with Copics
