Happy Mother's Day!

I hope all of you - moms or not - are having a great day today! My baby is still hanging out so I'm not technically a mom yet. I am, however, having a little giveaway!  Leave a comment guessing when you think my son will make his big debut. My friend Jennifer at For the Luv of Paper recently started selling F.R.E.D. tables again, and I'm giving one to whoever comes closest to my son's birthday! (Go check it out; you want one. I barely scrap, but I find it quite handy for keeping up with pieces of my projects and rearranging until I have a design I want.) And just so you're not totally off with the guesses, I'm due in two weeks... 😘

**If you're outside the US and want to play along, please note that I'll have to send you something else. The shipping would be a little ridiculous since the F.R.E.D. has a nice weight on the base.

Are You Still There?

Welp... It's officially been ages since I posted to this blog. It's not that I don't love you all, but I've been super tired and not very crafty for a minute. I happen to be growing a person! I'd planned to let you all know for a while now but just didn't make the time.  However, I got a beautiful card in the mail a few days ago that reminded me that I really needed to post something.  Look at this lovely card I received from Patricia at Paper Temptress:

Isn't it adorable? The inside is decorated beautifully, too! Paper Temptress is a long time sponsor at The Outlawz. I never expected her to send me anything; it was such a nice surprise!

I'll try not to be gone so long. My son is due in three months, and I hope to have something (anything!!!) to share with you before then!

Catching Up (part 2): It's Gwen!

I Heart U Gwen from Some Odd Girl colored with Copics

I made this card a couple of weeks ago in the middle of making another card. I was working on this card, and when I got stuck, I ended up making this one! I almost want to add something to the left side for balance but I don't really know what. SO... I've left it alone for the last couple of weeks. And I think I will continue to leave it just the way it is...  Sorry for the super short post, but I have to get some shut eye before work tomorrow. That will be my 4th "official" work day since the end of January. I'm not quite back in the swing of waking up before the sun rises...

Just Missed It!

Yup, I just missed Wednesday! I just knew I would have posted this earlier, but I'm just going to have to give myself credit for trying...  Wednesday is when I'm supposed to share a project for the Sketch Challenge on The Outlawz. Here's what I would've posted Wednesday but am instead posting now...on Thursday:

The Greeting Farm Hybrid=Charlotte Chic + The Twisted Kit's Desiree (colored with Copics) and Miss Teagan Sue papers from Bazzill

That cutie is a hybrid - the head is The Greeting Farm's Charlotte Chic, and the body is Desiree from the Twisted Kit by The Greeting Farm. The sentiment is also from the kit.

Here's this week's sketch if you want to play along:

We have prizes...

Is this a Church Hat?

Look at me - it's actually still Wednesday when I'm posting my Wednesday card!! :D Go me, go me! *insert cheesy happy dance*  My laptop is on the fritz again, and I'm on my desktop. This will be quick-ish because I get a headache being down here in the basement. I probably need to vacuum and maybe get another light bulb for one that's out...

Anyway, this is my card for this week's sketch challenge at The Outlawz.

The main stamp is Millie from Loralie Stamps, and the sentiment is by Inkadinkado. I made two other cards that I shared on YT with this stamp, but I don't think I put them on the blog. Must do that before the week is over...  You know I always end up making some mistake when I'm card making. This time, I stamped my sentiment so that there was really no way to make my circular card open up and look straight. So...I chopped the back off and ended up using a Cheerios box to make a little stand to go behind this part. I'm planning to send this off into the world and think a standing circle card will be (SHOULD BE) appreciated. :D

Here's the sketch if you want to play along:

Oak Pond Creations is sponsoring the Sketch Challenge this month, plus we have great site-wide prizes! With a new challenge daily, including an Anything Goes challenge every Thursday, you have no excuses for not joining up and entering a challenge or two every month...

Stacey Made This!

My lovely cousin came over to play with my crafting supplies today, and we actually managed to get a card made! I think she was an excellent student and created something wonderful!! She decided to CASE the lovely card found here... and ended up with this:

She said she needs a few more cards for some of her good friends and will be back tomorrow. We'll see what happens... :D

THANK YOU!!

I know I have really slacked off on this blog lately. I've been so tired when I get home from work that I've been going to bed at, like, 7:30/8:00. Some days I'm at school until after 6, then I come in, make my grandma her dinner, eat something, get grandma ready for bed, and crash when I take her up for bed. I haven't made anything since the crop! Plus, I had to clean off the table again as some of my mom's friends came over to have lunch with her over the weekend. Right now, I am DYING to make something! I came home early, and I'm feeling a bit energized. Maybe I can get to one of my DT projects...

Before I run away, I want to send a big thank you out to all of you who are praying for my mother and/or my family! Sandi, thank you so much for the card and shawl you sent her! Saturday she asked if I sent you a picture of the living room as the colors in the shawl match our carpets perfectly.  :D And Mary Joyce, thank you for the adorable card!  I'll be back soon (ish) with pictures!

Sharing!

This card looks so much more awesome than this pic shows! It is pure glitter, embossing, coloring goodness!

Look at this beautiful card I got from Cole Meyer! My cousin was here when it arrived, and she was seriously scheming on how she could steal this one. I'm sweet, so I did offer to slice the front off and attach it to another card. Luckily, she told me I could keep my card which is now sitting in the middle of the mantle.

**Cole, you always make fabulous cards! What kind of paper are you using for card bases? It seems so weighty, and I like-y a lot!

Sharing...

Before I go dive under the covers, I want to share with you some fabulous cards I received recently. I often forget to put the cards here on my blog, so I figured while I remembered, I would make it happen!

First up is a delightful Halloween card I got from Cole. Cole is an awesome woman and card maker; she has always been super nice to me, and I've never seen her make a bad card!

I love the faces on these two! Looks like major havoc is about to ensue!

Next, is a seriously sweet card from Alice Brown aka Scrappin Sista. I can always count on Alice for an encouraging word and some card love!

If you have some time, go check these ladies out. You won't be disappointed! Have a great week!

I'm So Excited!

Reasons for Excitement:

1. I won the birthday candy at my buddy Gina's blog! Gina packed a shoebox full of amazing stuff which included Basic Grey chipboard stickers, a Tim Holtz die, a set of Nesties, embossing folders, stamps, twine, paper, ribbon and even some Grumpy Girl soap! (The names of their soaps are too much!) Gina and I always joke about winning each others' candy, and I was really shocked to have won.

2. The newswoman just said that today's pollen count has broken a record. I am a serious allergy sufferer year-round, but it gets way more horrible during the spring. I'm excited, though, because I received some sample eye drops last week that have practically ended my eye issues! They taste nasty (drops drain into nose then run down throat), but it's so nice not to have watery, itchy eyes that produce sticky, slimy stuff all day. I've been able to go outside, open the windows in the house, and ride in my car with the windows down! I'm calling the doctor today for a prescription!!

That's it! It doesn't take a whole lot for me some days...  I know a lot of folks are going through a lot of things; I'm trying to do better about being happy with the little things!

As I was adding this pic, I realized it goes perfectly with what I just typed! I made this card for a recent issue of Ready, Set, Create. The image is from Dilly Beans.

Do You Boggle?

So you know, I'm a bit of a Boggle junkie. One reason I have a hard time getting ahead of my DT projects is because I usually color in front of my laptop, and Pogo calls me! I can claim that my purpose is to keep my brain sharp. Really, I just like dorky games!

Oh, not Boggle still, but Blitsy! Have you seen Blitsy is giving a dollar credit anytime anyone signs up before Feb 27 using your link even if the person doesn't buy anything! If you aren't already a member, head over, earn me a dollar, then share with your friends for some dollars for you!!

Here is my card for this week's Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz. That cute face is a digi from Birdie Brown by Torico. The sentiment is Hero Arts.

Here is the sketch for this week if you'd like to play along:
Challenges: Cutie Pie Challenges - Flower Power, NettieG's Digital Gems - Showcase You (I like to color! I sure can't focus on my straight line cutting skills...)

Places to Visit...

So, if you aren't a member of Blitsy yet, you might have missed that they are planning to give $200 to the 20,000 member and the person who referred that milestone member. They think the number will be hit sometime during the next three days, so if you aren't a member yet, what are you waiting for?? They also give credits when folks you refer start shopping. If you have a gang of crafty friends, invite them all and let them help add to your stash! I can say that I've bought some things from Blitsy; my order came quickly.  Plus, as I'm a serious shopper, I did my research before buying and know I saved some money!
Card for Ready Set Create using an angel image from Resale Clipart

Another spot you need to visit is my buddy Chana's blog, Card-d-ology. She recently changed her blog over to Blogger and is trying to build her followers list. In order to do so, she is offering two weekly prizes valued at $25!! Right now, she has a monthly $100 prize for January, too! No, her blog isn't one that you'll follow just for the prizes. She's a great cardmaker; we're on The Outlawz and Guylou's Inimitability DTs together!

Another card for Ready Set Create using an image from a now-defunct digi store. The font on the sign is from KevinandAmanda.com.
And finally, Drew of ScrappyHappiness is giving away a Vagabond soon! He almost has 5,000 subbies on YT, and after he hits the magic number, one of the subscribers wins! Check it out...

**I had to add some pictures so you all might actually leave a comment and not just run off for the prizes mentioned above!! You all are always so sweet to me. Thank you so much!!

C'mon Black Friday!

Really, I'm excited about Black Friday. I usually go shopping with my mom in the wee hours of the morning; lately, though, we haven't found any deals worth getting up at 3 a.m. for. BUT, this year I'm excited because this darn Kohl's commercial will stop playing! I LOVE Kohl's! I mean, I've made MVC status in one trip before, but this Black Friday commercial is driving me insane and seems to come on every break... (I hope Rebecca Black got paid a grip for this. I had never seen her video for Friday until a minute ago.)

And just since I want to act mad about things... I ordered some Copic refills from Two Peas during the sale a couple of weekends ago. They've been floating around Atlanta since last Thursday and finally showed up at my house today. Let me show you some ridiculous nonsense...

Eight little bottles of refills in a 12x12x3 box??  I like Two Peas, but the shipping cost on these refills that take up less than an eighth of the box seems a bit crazy to me...

On a sweeter note, since I know that no one comes here just to read my rambling, here are a couple of cards I made for the June/July issue of Ready, Set, Create:

Heather Ellis digi + altered sentiment from TLC Creations

Best Friends digi from Whimsy and Stars Studio

Lindsay's Stamp Stuff sentiment with Cowboy Tobie from Some Odd Girl and digi paper from Peppermint Creative
The new issue is only a few days away!

Oh, Guylou's Inimitability is having a blog hop on Dec 3. It's only one day, so mark your calendar! There will be goodies all around!

Not My Norm...

Hey!! It's Wednesday aka Sketch Challenge Day at The Outlawz! I have a mini story to share before I show you my card. Last week, I finally uploaded a card from November onto Split Coast Stampers. Well, they featured my card on their Facebook wall. I don't have FB and couldn't figure out why this card had, like, a thousand views in a day. Luckily, I wrote to some of the ladies who commented on my card, and they let me know what the deal was. I was way too excited. I was also inspired to make another card that didn't have coloring on it. (I love to color so this is hard for me!)

But okay, here's the sketch...

And here's my card:

For this card I used Urban Prarie papers from Basic Grey, a Marvy Uchida punch, a CTMH stamp from the True Friends set, scoreboard and the Swirling Lace punch by MS, Crystazzi flatback crystals, Offray Ribbon, Queen & Co pearls, a Sakura Gelly Roll pen in white, and Glossy Accents. I also had to color some of the stamp in with a Copic Multiliner...

I hope that you'll come play in the sketch challenge at The Outlawz!

Love you, Dad!!
