Taking a Break?

I originally planned to put the sentiment on a piece of vellum. Once I stamped it on the card I wished I had.
It's halfway through the April Showers challenge at Little Miss Muffet, and the team is bringing you some inspiration! I have a card using the sketch at The Paper Players and Melba Flora Hatter from Little Miss Muffet Stamps. The sentiment is Smitty's ABCs by Lawn Fawn.

I think I might have to take a mini blog break for the next week and a half or so. I have company with small children scheduled to come in this weekend which means that my dining room table must be cleared of crafty goodness. Then, next weekend I have a test for an additional teacher certification. I've been studying but will have to step it up next week. Y'all pray for me! If I can sneak in some time (which I probably will as I'm ADD and can only study for so long without going crazy), I will...

Last Chance!

So, here's the deal. This week Blitsy is giving a dollar per referral again. Even if you never plan to buy anything (despite the awesome prices and lightning fast shipping), if you haven't signed up, help me get some free stuff by signing up! Don't you love me? :D Then tell your friends to sign up and earn YOU some dollars. If any of your friends ever buy anything, you'll get a $10 credit after her/his first purchase. I just got some stuff yesterday that was free! This, however, is not the last chance referenced in the post title.

Today, the last Sketch Challenge of the month at The Outlawz began! This is your last chance to get a card/project in this month! Remember, we have 7 free digis from Bugaboo Stamps for the randomly-chosen winner. Here is my card using Army Bear from Meljen's Designs:
This was going to be for a Vietnam Vet, hence the jungle BDUs. Unfortunately, before I could even get it finished word was posted that he passed away. Maybe I can make another one of these and give the set to my parents; they're both USAF vets.

And here is the sketch so that you can play along:

Every project completed this month for any of the challenges at The Outlawz earns you a chance to win a $50 gift certificate from Oozak, a $20 paper collection from Paper Temptress, a coloring class at Color Me Creative Classroom, and a special goodie bag from Gilli Rubber Stamps! There are only a few more days to get a project in this month...

Crazy Cat Lady Card

Well, despite the lack of supplies I packed this weekend, I was able to finish my card for the Crazy Cat Lady Challenge at Guylou's Inimitability. My blue came out darker than I planned, but I hope Gina will tell me my colors are close enough. ;D Thank goodness my bf's mom is crafty; I was able to bum some buttons, string, and cardstock from her!

Don't forget the colors for this challenge are brown, cream/off white, and light blue. You have until 10 pm EST on May 3 to get a project in. I'd love to see you in the challenge!

What Had Happened Was...

So, I started today off with a mini shopping trip at Blitsy. I was so excited to have some credits; all I had to pay was shipping! I got a couple of things for me and knocked a Mother's Day present out . This week they have some good stuff, including the mini Xyron machines; I was just telling my bf's mom a few weekends ago that she needs to get one since she just started using her Cricut. We worked together to make her husband a bday card, and she was disturbed that she had to glue all the letters and the shadows that she picked. Can you believe it was my first time using any electronic cutter?

Anyway, I'm WAAAY behind on cards. I was too tired last night and had errands to do today. I tried taking a nap before errand mission number two, but it was interrupted by a phone call. Had I been able to finish, I could have stayed up a little later to work on my late cards. Gotta work so I have to sleep!

So you can do better than I did, the two things I'm working on are:

A card for the April Showers challenge at Little Miss Muffet. I had a plan for the card but was so sleepy last night that I couldn't even remember what it was until after I woke up in the middle of the night.

Gina's Sealpoint Siamese kitties

And a card for the Crazy Cat Lady Challenge at Guylou's Inimitability. This is a color challenge based on Gina's Siamese cats - brown, cream/off white, and light blue. I have cat issues and have never been a Siamese fan after watching Lady and the Tramp as a kid. I know, singing cats are make believe, but still...  Check the blog because Guylou is giving her Cat on a Fence digi free for 24 hours on April 20. The code for the freebie is in the challenge text.

I have my stuff almost completely colored and will be working on my cards as soon as I get in from work tomorrow afternoon. Go enter the challenges and get the free digi! Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Smile!!

It's time for a new Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz!  This week I chose the super adorable Ollie Glee from Some Odd Girl and Smitty's ABCs and Say Cheese from Lawn Fawn for my card.  As usual, I got ink on my finger and messed up my sentiment circle. HELLO rhinestones!! I took that circle off later as I wanted this to be a cleaner looking card. I will redo it and, hopefully, won't have to add rhinestones or pearls or ribbon or any of those other embellishments I use to hide mishaps!

Here's the sketch!
Not that you should need encouragement to play at The Outlawz, but just in case you do, this month the Sketch Challenge is being sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps! And anyone who enters a challenge can enter to win our site-wide prizes, which include goodies from Oozak, Paper Temptress, and more!

**Challenges: Oozak - Anything Goes, Simon Says Stamp and Show - Anything Goes, Whoopsi Daisy - Anything Goes, The Cutie Pie Challenge - Circles

There are just a few more hours to get The Hatters and the Sugar 'n Spice girls as digis at Little Miss Muffet!

Here's a card with cutie pie Pepper!

handmade card with a Copic colored image from Little Miss Muffet Stamps
Eww... I tried publishing this using the app for my phone. My pic looked like crud after it was downsized...

I used Pink Paislee's Hometown Summer papers and this week's sketch at Raise the Bar. The sentiment is Smiley Monster from KevinandAmanda.com.

**Challenges: Drunken Stampers - Kraft, Card Makin Mamas - Girlie

Little Miss Muffet in Rubber!

Oh goodness! That title will probably lead to some bondage types looking at my blog after Google tries to figure out what this page is about. :D When you look at your stats, do you find crazy looking links and search engine requests that lead to your page? I sure do! I always wonder how the people who come to my blog looking for one thing feel when they get something completely different...

Emily Rose Hatter from Little Miss Muffet Stamps. Huge sentiment cut from a sheet of DCWV's Mod-Retro Stack. I got a piece of Xyron sticky paper stuck up top so I had to "distress" some other areas to make it look planned... :D

But anyway, TODAY there are 18 new rubber stamps available at Little Miss Muffet Stamps! If you've been loving these stamps but don't do digis, now is your time! The Hatters and the Sugar 'n Spice Dolls are waiting for you! If you are like me, however, and love yourself some digis, it's also your time! These digis will be retired on Sunday, April 15, at 9:00 pm EST. The team will be showcasing the rubber/retiring stamps today, tomorrow, and Saturday. Head over to the challenge blog EACH day and leave a comment for a chance to win some new rubber!

Also, don't forget to put the new release code on your blog. You can win a whole month's new releases just for adding the blinkie!

Lovin' from the Oven!

Still no camera power cord...

It's time for another sketch challenge at The Outlawz! I will not lie; this week's sketch caused me serious discomfort. I begged my teammates for help. I pouted. I contemplated taking a vacay this week. In the end, I worked out something that I'm happy with! I pulled out my very old Sugar and Spice paper pack and colored up my girl Dottie from Bugaboo Stamps. (In my craziness, I'd love to believe I'm all boobs and teeny waist like Dottie. ONE DAY!!) Bugaboo is actually sponsoring the Sketch Challenge this month and is giving away 7 digis!  If you'd like to play for your chance to score some stamps or one of the other awesome prizes we have this month OR just because you know we have a load of fun at The Outlawz, here's the sketch:

Hope to see you there!

**Challenges: Use it Tuesday - Anything Goes, Paper Pretties - 3 or More Layers,  Top Tip Tuesday - Spotty, Dotty

Hello There!

Just wanted to say hey to all you who follow my blog! There are some new faces over there, and I'd like to thank all of you for visiting when you do!

The other day (Sat), I made my first card box. A friend of my mother came over and bought some of my cards, but this card wouldn't fit into an envelope because of the big puffy flower on the front. Good ol' Splitcoast Stampers and its awesome resource section to the rescue! The first box was too short for the hanging leaf on the card which then led me to have to do some math and finagling to make a box that would work. Here's what I came up with:

Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish Die, EK Success Flower Power punch, MS border and butterfly punch

I had to add that yellow paper to cover up the big gap I had when I changed the dimensions of the back. And those pearls were used to cover a bad score line! :D

A Sketch at Guylou's!

We barely have sketch challenges at Guylou's Inimitability. I think I might love it when we do because it takes away another step for me! The new challenge is a sketch dreamed up by our own Guylou, and the team came up with some amazing & different ways to use it. Here's what I did with the sketch and a digi named Pascal on His Skateboard:

MUST take a better pic tomorrow. I have no idea where my camera's power cord is, and my phone is trippin! *NEW picture!

In order to win a $10 credit to the GI store and a guest DT spot, you must enter a project over at the Guylou's Inimitability blog before 10 p.m. EST on April 19.

Trying to Fight Back!

I have plans today to complete my late project for Little Miss Muffet's new challenge, Spring Colors, and my project for Guylou's challenge which will start tonight. I just wanted to quickly apologize for the super short post yesterday. I was running out to the mall with my mom. While there, we stopped and got some awesome cupcakes then popped into the Chinese herb shop. I got a container filled with bark, berries/seeds, and other forest-y type things for my sinuses. It cost way more than I wanted to pay, but since I hate taking medicine AND am still coughing like crazy, I bit the bullet... I have no idea what I'm ingesting! The only thing I know that's in this mix is magnolia flower buds. I thought they were pussy willows. Gotta love Google!!
Sorry for the raggedy photo. I took a pic of all of this in the pot yesterday, but it seems to have disappeared.

I'm not supposed to eat spicy foods while waiting for my sinuses to clear. I thought that would be easy until a minute ago when I made some ramen noodles for breakfast. I always douse them in sriracha but had to skip it. :( I'm also not supposed to have alcohol. I forgot that last night and had a shot of NyQuil. That stuff doesn't make me sleep; it actually usually keeps me awake (sudafed issues...), but not last night! Might have just been because I haven't had a decent night of sleep since last Thursday...

Even my grandma has been asking me if I'm taking something for this cough. I asked her if she knew something I could go outside and boil up! :D She has Alzheimer's, and the first time I asked, she acted like she'd never heard of such a thing. About thirty minutes later, she started telling me how her great-grandmother was "an Indian" (no idea about a tribe) and that back in the day I would have been told to get some rabbit tobacco, bluegrass, or heartleaf (wild ginger) to work on this cough. I Googled rabbit tobacco for coughing and found plenty of references. So, if any of y'all have some old rabbit tobacco dried up let me know!

**Yes, I'm one of those annoying people who will Google anything in the middle of a conversation. I like to know things, and it is super convenient!**
