Happy Father's Day!

Hope you're all out there having a great Father's Day whether you're a dad or not! Here's the card I made for my daddy:

Love You Daddy digi from Mo's Digital Pencil Too. Colored with Copics.
He came over for late lunch and movies, and because we're silly we decided to re-create the scene from the card! :D

I guess I should have cropped this at his waist so it would really match, but then you wouldn't get to see that big smile on his face!

**Thanks for the gift certificate, Colleen!!! I thought I'd bought this digi for Father's Day last year, but thanks to you, I have it now!  :D  HUGS to you, sister!

Just a Little Something...

My boyfriend is super stubborn. He's a know it all and often requires "evidence" before he will accept being wrong about something. It drives me nuts - especially when I know I'm right - but I love that guy. A few days ago we were talking about some conversation he'd had with someone who was trying to get him to do something he didn't want to do, and he said something like, "They don't seem to get it. They'll hate me before they break me." It is SO him! I instantly filed that away because I knew an image that had been sitting in my computer's memory waiting for ink that would go perfectly with his feeling!

I made him a little (5.5"square) tent card/sign using Mo Manning's digi Chad in Timeout. Put my guy in the corner all you want; he's still going to be a pig-headed bugger! I haven't decided what should go on the other side yet. I'm debating about a scripture or a picture for the times he's not feeling like fighting! :D

**Are any of you who follow blogs via Reader missing posts? I follow a lot of blogs, but lately I have been seeing the same posts in the afternoon that I saw in the morning. I follow my own blog, but the last four, five, six posts haven't showed up in Reader either. I had to actually add a subscription to my blog for them to show up. ??? I am slowly going down the VERY long list of blogs I follow and adding subscriptions to them in Reader because I am pretty sure I'm missing a lot of your posts! Maybe my phone is just angry with me because I just saw a lot more posts on my computer than I have all day on my phone...

Boxing Day! + Rambling!

In case you haven't made it over, Guylou's Inimitability is having a Boxing Day sale this week! My personal favorites are the digis in the Gabrielle Series. And since you might be ready to start on Valentine's Day card already, I would take a look a Cupid and the Love Seat digis, too! Until the 31st you get half off with coupon code 2011-BOXINGWEEK!

I have been enjoying my break. So far, I've watched a number of movies. I saw Bad Teacher (crude yet funny), Horrible Bosses (also raunchy, very hilarious), and Conan the Barbarian (actually enjoyable, but I had really low expectations).

Also, since I wasn't smart enough to pre-schedule a post, I now have to tell you that I hope you had a great Christmas! A special Christmas shout-out to my new Secret Pal! I just got your card... You are on it! I've barely thought about next year's SP stuff, but your card will encourage me to get something together... Here are some of the last Christmas cards I made for this year!
This SEI paper did all the work!

Love this image from Mo Manning!

Cute Karber digi in a card for Oct/Nov issue of Ready, Set, Create!
Ah, speaking of Ready, Set, Create, you can get the current issue half off until the 29th! And if you're interested in submitting some work for the upcoming issue, check this page for the calls! You have until Jan 10, 2012 to get some projects in for publication!

I should be Studying...

I just met with someone about a tutoring gig and have to take a four-hour test in a few hours. I'm so past the SAT and GRE right now; I don't know how this is going to work...  :D  Anyway, today is Wednesday! Here's this week's sketch from The Outlawz:

And here's my card:
The image is from Mo Manning; it's called What's Cookin' and was only $1. That dollar went to help the people of Japan after the earthquake. If you know me, you know I got everything that was going to help over there... :D  She's been colored with Copics. I tried doing a technique on the pot that my friend Arielle taught us in her group on CDAC (Wax Fruit Co.). I was rushing though and did it from memory. Hope I did you some justice, AG!  That strip of paper is from CTMH's Cherry-O pack that I got from my buddy Ruby. (Hope you're okay!) Those brads in the corner were from ebay, but you can get some from Eyelet Outlet. Really cute things there!  I'll be back later (after the dreaded test) to see if I can find some challenges!

You should get over to The Outlawz and find at least one challenge from April to enter. SCACD is giving a $25 gift certificate, Oozak.com is giving a Copic Airbrush System away, and there's also a challenge for people who have never entered a challenge on the site! You don't want to miss out!

Maybe Not as Slow as Molasses...

Hey! Thank you all so much for letting me know that I'm not a complete slow poke! Some days I feel like I am really moving in slow motion. Those days, the only way I know I've been working is to look at the growing mess/mass (pick one) of crafting supplies on the table...  :D

I know it's only been a few weeks, but hopefully you know that Wednesday is Sketch Challenge day at The Outlawz! Here is this week's sketch:

And here's my card...

That is Kissy from Mo Manning; is she not adorable?! (FYI - Since I started taking online Copic coloring classes, I've been doing a better job of taking notes when I make cards so I can tell you  colors for things if you'd like to know.) The paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Pixie-licious collection. Love it! I have a problem using patterned paper; I don't want to cut it! I'm a mini paper hoarder, but I'm so "frugal" that I don't want to use any of it. When I see cards that Carmen or Dorcas have made, I'm always amazed by how many layers of paper they use. (Plus their cards are wonderful!) Just know that I'm trying...  The little sweetheart stamp is from Craftsmart aka the $1 bin at Michaels. I used some Colorbox inks for the hearts and was very happy with how close to matching the paper they were!

I just got home from a half day doctor's appointment visit (not for me; I'm ok) and remembered that I have some cards due soon... I have to get to work - especially since I'm so slow!  ;)

Thanks for stopping by! + Baby Card

WOW! Yesterday started a little blog loving session over on Feline Playful. I have been having a blast going to all the different blogs and seeing people's work. And I'm really thankful for all the nice comments that folks have been leaving me. Please know that I check Google Reader whenever I have a moment of free time and will be reading what you post on your blog. I may not show up every day, but you should expect to see my little face in your comments from time to time.

I do have a card to share that I finished this morning. Unfortunately, I'm not at home so I can't get the good pics off my camera, but I did take some pictures on my phone. When I get to my camera cable I'll upload a better picture without my fingernails hanging out on the side...  :D  **The new pic is on the right...**

This card is for my BF's nephew who was baptized this morning. I used sketch #33 from the AnnaBelle Bling Sketch Challenge. The digi is a brand new stamp from Mo Manning. (A lady soon to have new grandsons and I asked for some boys when Mo put out those beautiful "Baby Girl" stamps the other day...) The stamp was colored with Copics, the buttons are by Making Memories, and the paper is DCWV's Linen Closet and some shimmery paper from Colorbox. The font is Sue Ellen Francisco; there's a scripture on the inside (Isaiah 46:4)...

It seems like everyone has a "new" challenge for the new year. Since this card is for a relatively new baby and is to celebrate his new dedication to Christ, I'm going to enter a gang of them just for the fun of it!

Quirky Crafts - #1 New Beginnnings,Crafty Hos' Challenge - Babies, One Stop Craft Challenges - #112 New Beginnings, Ellephantastic Challenges - #22 New Beginnings, Mark's Finest Papers - #36 Something New, Paper Sundaes - #50 Something New, Alphabet Challenge - I for Infants, Fairy Fun Fridays - #43 New Beginnings, Digital Tuesday Challenge - #91 Anything Goes + Digi

1st Card Challenges!

Ok, two things - first, I have no idea what this card looks like on your monitor. In my phone, the cheeks are REALLY pink, but the card is lit right. The card looked crazy on my (old) monitor, so I just went to Picnik and let it auto-fix everything. It looks way too dark on my screen... (**Recharged my camera's batteries and uploaded a new photo. And now I see that the ribbon is falling off. ARGH...) Second, I thought using a sketch was supposed to make cards easy! I swear I went through all my paper about fifty times and still didn't really like what I came up with... It's done now though.

The image is a digi named Keisha from Mo Manning; I colored her with my Copics over a month ago. (I was planning on making a card for a wedding I went to.) The charm and border punch are from MS. Yellow paper - Colorbok Pearlescent stack; purple - DCWV; green - atd Tranquil stack.

So yeah, I'm entering this card into my first ever card challenges. (It's only my 5th card.) I used Sketch #47 from Paper Take Weekly and put a charm on the card to enter the Totally Paper Crafts (Charming) and the ABC Challenge (C is for Charms).
