Do You Stamp Sentiments Inside Your Cards?

Sometimes, I know what I want a card to say, but I usually leave the inside blank. Do you stamp the insides when you make cards?

I put gesso on that chipboard star before coloring it with a Copic. I do NOT like how it turned out. Think Glossy Accents will hide those brush strokes??

There's a little bit of time left to get in on the last May Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz.  I used Lunar Deity from Art by Mi Ran, May's prize sponsor, for this card. Come over and play! Here's the sketch:

A new sketch challenge starts Wednesday! And if you don't like a sketch, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday all started Anything Goes challenges last week!

Blogger Lets Us Post Early For a Reason...

I'm one of the Guest Designers at Little Blue Button Stamps (http://lbbstamps.com/) this month and should have gone ahead and created my blog post early like I knew I needed to. Good ol' life, you know?

Halloween at Little Miss Muffet!

I'm at work and a bit late with this post. So... Have you seen today's new release at Little Miss Muffet?! Barbara & Paula from Pollycraft have some super Trick or Treaters! Plus, there's an amazing new banner die at LMMS!

I was dying last night trying to convince myself to get up and make something. I guess that's why you're supposed to do these ahead of time, huh? Unfortunately, I can't seem to shake this ridiculous tired that comes on after work. I take my vitamins, but I haven't been sleeping well lately. Last night, I must have woken up 20 times between midnight and 4am; I finally woke up 3 minutes before the alarm was set to go off! I hate that! Anyway, before finally giving in to sleep, I caught my second wind and would up using the adorable Celeste Amberglow Fairy Special digi to make a tag. (Me? Tag?? I know, right!) Had I not been rushing so that I could get into the bed, I probably would have thrown some more stuff at this tag. I do like how it turned out, though.

Well, the clock says I'm off, so I'm going to wrap this up. You should make sure you get over to LMMS to check out the awesome creations my teammates made. PLUS, if you haven't already, you should put the LMMS News Badge on your blog. Mary F. wound up getting three of the new digis just for having the badge! Also, Bandit Boy Tom and some Pollycraft images are being retired from digi form. You may want to rush over to ensure you have them!

Repeat for the Sketch Challenge!

I ran away for the weekend and didn't make my card for this week's Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz before I left. I was really happy to see that I had a card from last year that was kind of close to the sketch. Even better was that the card featured a digi from our sponsor this month at the Sketch Challenge, Michelle Perkett!

Here are the sketch and my card:

I hope to see you in the challenge! Remember, we have Michelle Perkett sponsoring the Sketch Challenge, plus Oozak, SCACD, Paper Temptress, Gilli Rubber Stamps, and Anita Be Stampin are our site-wide sponsors for December!! I saw that Tiddly Inks and EK Success are also sponsoring challenges this month. You'll have to poke around the site to figure out where they are!

And just in case you haven't been to The Outlawz in a minute, Sandi and Anne from the DT have been putting out great FREE digis. We also have an active blogging group full of encouraging crafters who check in and comment at each others' blogs and an ever-growing list of tutorials! See you around!

Oh, before I forget again... Thank you Shonda (former Secret Pal) for that awesome Christmas card! My bf was over here trying to work out the mechanics behind that wobble you used for Santa! And thank you Naomi for the surprise card and GC! I'll be posting your cards later this week! :D

Two in One!

So, I didn't post the sketch or my card from last Wednesday, but since you still have until the first Wednesday in July to play along, I'm going to post them with this week's sketch from The Outlawz...

Here's last week's sketch:
And this is the card I made:

And the card I made using it looks like this:

What in the world is wrong with Blogger now? If I didn't know HTML, I don't think I could've added these pics to this post...  :(  Maybe I'll come back to add details, but this coding nonsense has taken up more time than I felt like giving this... Oh, and cut paper then add Stickles! My paper wouldn't lay down enough for me to cut straight...

Not My Babies!!

No, not any real babies - my cards. I just started making cards in the summer, and while I hadn't planned for them to live with me forever, parting with them is so hard! There are cards I've made for specific people; I don't mind giving them up. It's the cards that I made just because I loved an image or wanted to try a technique that I have a problem handing over. Last week, my bf asked me to make some cards for people at his job. (First commission gig!!) I made extra cards but gave him the option to pick from all of the winter-y/Christmas cards I've ever made. Some of the ones he picked were my favorites, and I'm sad that I'll never be able to go to hold them again.  :)  Is this just me? Do you ever make cards that you love so much you want to keep?

So, one of the cards I made especially for him that he picked is this one:

The digi stamp is Holly the Christmas Friendship Fairy from Michelle Perkett Studio. She's colored with Copics and outlined with colored pencil + OMS. There are a gang of Stickles, but I don't know what colors they are. I got the multipack of big bottles from Michaels, but they don't have any name or other indicator of color on them. (Help me out. They're both white in the bottle. One has gold glitter; the other has blue. The other one from the pack has green glitter.) The little pearls just arrived the other day as part of a Christmas present from my friend Theresa... I really like how this card came out and hope you do too!

It's Growing On Me...

I made a card last night simply because I needed to make a card. I only made one thing last week, and looking at this week, I knew last night was the best chance for me to sit down and finish a card. Well, after I finished, I wasn't feeling it. But I put it up in the Copic Challenge Corner on Simply Scrapping Crafts and got good feedback. I retook pictures of the card in today's wonderful sunlight, and I'm liking it more than yesterday... I even found some challenges to put it in last night! I think I'm going to send this card to the relative of a friend who has cancer. The sentiment inside is from Elzybells; I think it says, "wishing you all the best things," but I'd have to look to be sure...

The image is Born from Blossoms from A Day for Daisies. She was colored with Copics and her wings have a coating of that good ol' Elmers glitter. The papers are from Basic Grey's Olivia collection and Twitterpated from CTMH.

Thinking of You

Surprising! I actually FINISHED another card! I have a whole bag full of colored images but the actual finishing of a project rarely happens for me. I used sketch #58 from Tuesday Morning Sketches, and hopefully this fits into Crafty Cardmakers Glitter & Sparkle spotlight challenge.

Alright-y, the details are as follows: Digi: Born from Blossoms, A Day for Daisies; Sentiment: EK Success; Flowers: MS Hydrangea Punch; Swirly Rub-on: Colorbok; Glitter & Flower Centers: Elmer's 3-D Paint Pens (I don't have any Stickles) ; Ribbon: Offray; Paper: white - Recollections, red - some 3lb paper pack I got at Michael's. I used my Copic markers to color the digi stamp and a combination of greens from the Rainforest set of Colorbox inks.

PLEASE go check out Tammy's work at A Day for Daisies or visit the group on CDAC. The members there are really nice and supportive...
