Catching Up (pt. 1): A CASE!

One thing I'm always claiming that I'm going to do but have barely ever done is CASE other crafters' cards and such. Now, if you don't know what that means, I can't be of too much help. I went looking and found five different definitions for the acronym. Basically, it means that you look at someone else's work and copy it. You might change the shapes, colors, style, whatever. When you do it, you should be nice and tell the world that you got the idea from whoever you scraplifted it from...

Recently, a very talented crafter named Mary Joyce made an amazing altered composition notebook! Go here to see it, and leave her some love.  (Sidenote: Mary Joyce and I found out about a month and a half ago that we share some relative. We've known each other for a few years but just found out thanks to a genealogy DNA service... Isn't that more proof that the world is small??)  Anyway, I have had notebooks in my room since two school years ago waiting to be altered, and hers was gorgeous! Plus, she used a stamp that I had just bought. Since I'm trying to do better about using my supplies and not just providing them with a place to live, I decided it was a perfect time for a CASE!

Prima Bloom Girl Stamp Summer with the bees and strawberries removed

Now, if you're looking at my cover and wondering why the stamp doesn't quite look the same as Mary Joyce's, I used a wipe to remove the bees and the strawberries. I think this is a lovely face, but whatever story those two elements were supposed to be adding was lost on me... I put her cheeks a little too low, but overall, I like this notebook. The words came off a stamp from Altenew, and I got the red flower in an awesome giveaway from Omega on her YT channel. (Thanks, O!)  I haven't decorated the inside yet. I think I might be keeping this notebook for myself, and I don't know what I want to see inside or if I want tabs or whatever.

Thanks for coming over!

WTHeck?

Here's the deal: blogging has been on my to do list since last week. I got my Wednesday card up on time last week then didn't put anything else online. I don't know if I want to do one post for the all the missing things or set up a few posts to go up soon.  Well, until I figure it all out, here are two more cards with Millie from Loralie Stamps that I said I would post before the end of the week... a month ago.

Same stamps (the sentiment is from MFT), same doily die, same pearls (colored with Copic markers), same paper pad for background and paper piecing, same colors on the ladies (E13/15/17) with a different base color to get two very different skin tones.

Just Missed It!

Yup, I just missed Wednesday! I just knew I would have posted this earlier, but I'm just going to have to give myself credit for trying...  Wednesday is when I'm supposed to share a project for the Sketch Challenge on The Outlawz. Here's what I would've posted Wednesday but am instead posting now...on Thursday:

The Greeting Farm Hybrid=Charlotte Chic + The Twisted Kit's Desiree (colored with Copics) and Miss Teagan Sue papers from Bazzill

That cutie is a hybrid - the head is The Greeting Farm's Charlotte Chic, and the body is Desiree from the Twisted Kit by The Greeting Farm. The sentiment is also from the kit.

Here's this week's sketch if you want to play along:

We have prizes...

I'm Just Going to Hit Publish... Part 2

I really haven't felt like blogging lately. I just want to post things so you can see them without me spending the time to write all about the projects. So...

Washi tape border!

When I was working on a card a couple of weeks ago for a challenge at The Outlawz, I tried using my colored pencils on kraft and really liked it. I still haven't finished that card, but I did go back to the kraft+pencil combo again. I made this card for a friend a couple of days ago. The lady is from Rubbernecker and was one of the fabulous stamps I got from Cole. Thanks again, Cole!!

Here are some cards I made for my father recently.

This is the card I made my dad for Father's Day. The man is a Cricut cut I got from my boyfriend's mom, and the sentiment is by Avery Elle.
I must have lowered the resolution on my phone's camera again. Anyway, this card was to congratulate my father on his recent 2nd retirement! The stamps were in a free set I got in a Unity order.

Shiny Hair?

Hey Birdie!! You asked; here it is... (Don't you love it when that happens?!)

Folks who follow me on YouTube or G+ may have already seen this pop up in their feeds, but as I said yesterday, I haven't been doing a good job of updating this blog. I am a slow colorist, and even though this video is double speed, it's still over ten minutes long. Just in case you get tired of watching me color, the card is below. (The end of the video is me showing the card...) I made it for a teacher friend who was voted teacher of the year at her school.

You Know I Love a Big Curly 'Fro!

Seriously, when I don't have to worry about how much time my hair takes in the morning or before bed, I have one big, curly puff of hair. Charlotte Chic-scarf included-looks like me when school is out...
Charlotte Chic - The Greeting Farm, Hopscotch paper - Basic Grey
I found my X-Press It paper while cleaning up the other day. Still having those skin coloring issues. I guess it's because I'm used to coloring on Neenah and should practice...  I tried my hand at 3D paper piecing, but since I'm oh so smart, I didn't bother to take a picture so you could see that. Maybe in the morning...

UPDATE: Here's a close view. I don't know how people do this with super detailed images!

Here's the sketch if you'd like to play along:

Yes, I sort of cheated and let the paper work for those stripes in the background. You know how I do!  :D

BCA for the Sketch Challenge!

The paper I colored on was sucking my markers dry! Tip: Don't go to make cards with stamps and Copics but no coloring paper!

I pulled something in my back and don't feel like typing. Love me anyway! :D That's Charlotte Chic from The Greeting Farm minus her cute 'fro for a last minute Breast Cancer Awareness card.  This was for my DT project at The Outlawz this week. Come play!

Hey Gorgeous!

Cheeky Glamour -The Greeting Farm

It is so weird trying to craft without the supplies you're used to! I packed up a few things to go craft and forgot any paper to color on. I had to use a notecard to stamp and color after using a piece of cardstock that was literally sucking the juice out of my Copics. Hey, how do you get smeared Tombow glue off? I tried using an eraser to get the shiny areas off, and it was making a mess. Help!

Guess Who?

Hey!! I know; it's been forever... I finally got some time to make some cards! I'm over at my boyfriend's mom's. She and I spent the afternoon and evening making cards. Three cards tonight and two last weekend - the first ones since August. I'm trying to decide whether to show them all now or space them out so you might remember I'm here...

So, here's the first one.

I really wanted to do Link Up for Pink again this year. I put all  my digis that would work for breast cancer awareness in a Word document the other day then my new laser printer decided to print, like, 100 copies of some pages I was printing for my kids (students - I didn't birth any children in my time away). Anyway, that little starter toner disappeared quickly in the midst of that nonsense. I just went to get a real toner today; hopefully, I'll find some more time soon to get them colored up. Luckily, I had a "real" stamp that would work! :D

And Again...

Clearly, my blogging is way better when I don't make my projects in advance! This is the second week in a row that I forgot to post on Wednesday. I used to write my posts in advance and schedule them...until I started making my projects at the last minute! Then I would just take my picture and write the post right after. Now that I'm trying to do things early again, I've totally forgotten to do either.  :D

This week's card for the Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz has the super cute Cheeky Nice from The Greeting Farm's Naughty or Nice set. I put a nose on her because not everyone likes noseless faces, but after I did it, she reminded me of Stewie Griffin. Not that he even has that kind of nose, but I really wish I'd left off the bridge line...

Here's the sketch if you'd like to come play along:

Geez, I Suck!

Well, I guess I only suck a little since I did have to hide pack all of my crafty stuff so that I could clean up for company. We celebrated my grandmother's 92 birthday last weekend, and with her two of her three children, four of her grandchildren, six great-grands, and six great-greats all in this house, leaving my stuff out was so not an option! :D

Now that it's quiet again, I stayed up late with my cousin making cards. Here's mine for the Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz this week:

You know I HAD to get Charlotte Chic from The Greeting Farm! Her hair looks like mine!
I feel like it's been a minute since I reminded you of the awesome prizes we have at The Outlawz. The Sketch Challenge is sponsored by SheryK Designs this month, and we have site-wide prizes from Oozak, Paper Temptress, Jellypark, Rick St. Dennis, Squigglefly, and Touched by a Butterfly! Here's the sketch if you're interested in joining us:

AND... Here's my lovely cousin's card!
She was going for a 4th of July look, and I think she nailed it!

Here are the Others!

Here are my other two cards from last week's crop. I can't believe it's been a week and I'm just getting these up...

Glam Bella (colored with Copics), Glitz paper, CTMH sentiment, Want 2 Scrap bling
That's Glam Bella from Diva Glam, my friend Rochelle's new stamp company!

And my red dress card:
I don't know where this image is from; it was in our crop bags.

I got a really nice card from Barbara from Little Miss Muffet Stamps a few days ago. If I'm looking post-deficient again this week, I'll make sure you see it!! :D

Cuckoo I Am...

I feel like I'm in the middle of a moment - like I have too much in my brain and too much energy. As such, sitting here at the computer is making me feel a little crazy. Therefore, this post will be one my lovely, super short posts!

This card is for this week's Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz. We have an awesome sponsor for Sketch this month, Angie Delarie!! She's giving a very generous prize! We also have a great set of site-wide prizes from some fabulous sponsors including Oozak and Paper Temptress! Here is the sketch if you'd like to come play:

My first "REAL" CASE

*I'll be back in just a while with some details. I'm sick and trying to finish up some DT stuff since I'm stuck at home anyway... For now, just know that I CASEd  Thanh's card over at Raise the Bar Challenges...

Okay! So, that image is Odette from The Greeting Farm's Roll Call set. I made her a little plaid skirt to go along with the plaid hat that Hello Ian wears. (He's who Thanh used...)  Eiffel Tower stamp, Want 2 Scrap bling, Cupid rub-on, Papertrey Ink Block Alphabet Dies (run thrice so I could make those letters stand up a little), some Recollections washi tape and BAM! There's a card!

Forewarning - I half colored a gang of TGF stamps 2 weekends ago. Expect to see them as I attempt to use my stamps and serious paper stash...

**Challenges: Creative Card Crew - Girly, Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes, Lady Anne's - Anything Goes, Digi Stamps 4 Joy - Anything Goes

Happy LMMS Release Day?!

Ready for another quick post? If not, I apologize! Unexpected family, cleaning and cooking all day, plus sinus nonsense since Friday means I need to be speedy...

Little Miss Muffet Stamps has another super release today! Lots of Pollycraft Christmas images, a little turkey and Christmas tree, another Van Sister, a very regal looking crown, plus something for Hanukkah and Kwanzaa! My card uses Emily, the newest (and my fav for the curls) Van Sister...

Finally used some more of that Webster's Pages box! Sentiment from Stamp Camp. It's sparkly IRL...

Check what the rest of the team has for you and see whether YOU won for having up the LMMS News Badge!  Ooh, I just saw that one of my favorite online shops, Oozak, will be selling LMMS dies and rubber stamps soon!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

New Releases at Little Miss Muffet!

This week at Little Miss Muffet Stamps we have seven new digis from Simply Sophia! This set is called Hills of Mooradale and is perfect for you fantasy lovers. There are unicorns, dragons, and a pegasus!
Any photo gurus out there? Things that are this purple will not photo red enough with my camera. I can't get the right colors even when I change the camera's settings or edit the photo afterward...

I chose to make a mini mixed media canvas using Firefoot. I swear as simple as that canvas looks, you might not even believe that there are a ton of products on there...  Don't forget to check out what my teammates made this week and get a peek at the other stamps in the set!

**Challenges: Oozak - Sparkle, Paperminutes - No Design Paper, Papertake Weekly - Things that Make You Go Aww, Stamp and Create - Anything Goes, There's Magic in the Air - Anything Goes, Art With No Boundaries - Anything Goes

What Can I Say?

So, last week I didn't make anything. After I went to the crop, I can't even tell you how many days it was before I pulled my supplies out of the car. That cough, which I'm slowly getting over, really just wore me out... Plus, school started last week, and I spent a lot of time helping my mother get her classroom and kids together.

I figured no one would like it too much if I took another week off. And somehow, I had a gang of projects due this week. My cousin requested some cards a week and a half ago for this Friday. I had some candy buffet decorations due yesterday. And, of course, DT projects. Unfortunately, I still haven't unpacked, my table is a mess, and I am only about 1/3 finished moving my stuff back upstairs after moving it down for the new carpet. I swear every time I take something upstairs, I get upset because the nice clean room I had is disappearing one item at a time...

ANYWAY, this is about to be another monster post. It's the *anniversary of my birth (!!), and I want to knock this all out at once!

First up, this week's card for the Sketch Challenge at The Outlawz.

I'm not gonna lie; July and August's sketches were a challenge!! My dear friend Sandi really made these hard! This one left me looking seriously confused. I decided to use rolled flowers to mimic that spiral shape in the middle. If you want a crack at it, here it is...

Next up, the candy jars.
Geesh, I should have opened the window instead of using the flash...

I really want to see these in their full glory at Ari's party this weekend! She's having a spa party, and her mom is trying to do it big since it's Ari's first "real" party. I know the whole thing is going to be spectacular!

Finally, a new challenge started today at Little Miss Muffet. The new challenge is PINK, PINK, PINK! Now, maybe because I'd just finished Ari's decorations I was a little pinked out... This is what I ended up with!
Challenges: Craft Your Passion - Power of Three, Lollipop Crafts - AG, Tammy's Scraping Corner - AG

PUNKY PINK! Some little girls have a little sprinkling of something else, you know? :D  If you want to play along, you have two weeks. Remember, if you use a LMMS image, the challenge is Anything Goes!

*Anniversary of my birth - My father used to have a thing about "birthday." He'd remind me that everyone only has one birthday, then all the rest are anniversaries of birth. Well, he sure said, "Happy Birthday" in the text he sent me this morning!! :D

I Went to a Crop!

I went to an all-day crop on Saturday and had an awesome time. You know I couldn't go and scrap anything, though; I had some fun with cards! Sorry for not really editing these, but you can click them to see the bigger versions.

Set for my Secret Pal. If you're in the group, don't tell her it's me! :D

A lady at crop wanted a duplicate of one of my cards for her daughter who is going to college this week. A smudge from my stamp cleaning pad led to extra bling! :D

My bf's mom needed a card for one of her coworkers who recently lost his wife. A nice lady at the crop made those shapes for me on her Cricut. I had to add some pearls to disguise the fact that I stamped way off to the side. You know how I do!
Meljen's bear with some papers I got at the recent Scrapbook Expo.
Yeah, I was there about 11 hours and only made 5.5 cards! (The sympathy card was finished on Sunday...) I am what I am! :D

Totally unrelated, but I so want to see The Bourne Legacy and ParaNorman! Did you see anything while I was at the crop?
