let's see if this works...

So I am trying to type my Wednesday post from my new phone. I'm in the bad weather area and don't feel like starting the computer. Apparently this phone only works on the edit html tab in Blogger. So... if it doesn't work, just know I tried.

Hopefully, below you see my card for this week's sketch challenge at The Outlawz...

Well...That didn't work. But since the storm isn't here yet, here we go!! :D Here's this week's sketch from The Outlawz:

And here's my card using some stamps from Lawn Fawn's Plus One set:

New Challenge + Exciting News!

There's a new challenge up at Guylou's Inimitability! My friend and fellow GI DT member Tracy picked the it, and I know you'll love it!  For this challenge, you'll need to used the following color combo from Creative Khaki:

AND, as a twist, Tracy has asked that you use an unconventional household object on your card.  You have until 10 p.m. on May 5 to upload your card. Remember, you don't have to use a GI stamp to enter the challenge (but there are freebies all over the place including an adorable wedding digi that's up now on CDAC). Also, if you're chosen as the random winner, you'll receive 2 Guylou's Inimitability digi stamps and an opportunity to be a GDT on a later challenge!  Our GDT for this challenge is my super sweet, South African friend Theresa aka Flatback Pearl! (I've decided I'm going to call her that from now on as she has gifted me a number of times with pearls in all colors and sizes!)  Sounds like a pirate name, right? Seriously...she's a sweetie pie!

Here's my card for the challenge:

Caroline is my digi stamp from Guylou's Inimitability, and my unconventional item is a sheet of styrofoam padding. My mom just ordered an exercise machine; I put it together and was looking at all those sheets wondering if I could do something with them. Let me tell you, it's not the easiest product to work with. I tried a Copic marker, Staz-On ink, and regular Colorbox ink AND the blow dryer. I don't know if that flower has dried yet! You might not be able to see them, but there are little black leaves on the side of the flower. Okay... rambling... The stamps behind Caroline are from Hero Arts (Trees, Birds, and Messages) and CTMH (True Friends); the bottom sentiment is by K&Co (Amy Butler Lotus Greeting Stamps). Martha Stewart punch, Spica atyou glitter pen over the sentiment, We R Memory Keepers grommet... Done!

Guylou's Inimitability has new stamps coming soon! So, we're going to have a blog hop May 6 - 8 to showcase them! Because I like you, here's a sneak peek...

See you in the challenge!

I should be Studying...

I just met with someone about a tutoring gig and have to take a four-hour test in a few hours. I'm so past the SAT and GRE right now; I don't know how this is going to work...  :D  Anyway, today is Wednesday! Here's this week's sketch from The Outlawz:

And here's my card:
The image is from Mo Manning; it's called What's Cookin' and was only $1. That dollar went to help the people of Japan after the earthquake. If you know me, you know I got everything that was going to help over there... :D  She's been colored with Copics. I tried doing a technique on the pot that my friend Arielle taught us in her group on CDAC (Wax Fruit Co.). I was rushing though and did it from memory. Hope I did you some justice, AG!  That strip of paper is from CTMH's Cherry-O pack that I got from my buddy Ruby. (Hope you're okay!) Those brads in the corner were from ebay, but you can get some from Eyelet Outlet. Really cute things there!  I'll be back later (after the dreaded test) to see if I can find some challenges!

You should get over to The Outlawz and find at least one challenge from April to enter. SCACD is giving a $25 gift certificate, Oozak.com is giving a Copic Airbrush System away, and there's also a challenge for people who have never entered a challenge on the site! You don't want to miss out!

Boo Me!

Eesh... I've become, like, the worst blogger lately. So sorry to all my new followers who must think I barely ever update this blog! I'll do better! :D

I'm trying to post this quickly since I should have done this one yesterday... A new sketch is up at The Outlawz! It looks like this:

And this is what I made:  (Sorry, not edited yet...)

This card was made for my bf's family; a very special member of the family recently passed away. Her favorite color was purple, and I went with that because I didn't want the card to feel dreary. The image is from A Day for Daisies, and the paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Pixie-liscious line. I used another one of the pages for the inside.

The poem is from a spreadsheet full of sentiments that's available on Splitcoast Stampers.

Okay, that's about it for this one. Oh, if you have a dollar or two (or twenty), please consider sponsoring my bf in an upcoming walk for March of Dimes. If you do, let him know you're one of my buddies! ;D  Thanks!

Challenges (This feels wrong, but I miss challenges...): Papertake Weekly - Dimension, My Partner in Crafting Crime - Layer it Up, Dream Valley Challenges - Things with Wings, Stampin' Sisters in Christ - #84 Mark 15:17 (I'm not sure if I have enough purple, but I always love reading the challenges here!), Bearly Mine Challenges - #8 Inside Out

Oops! New challenge at Guylou's Inimitability!

With all the rain that comes in the spring, the new challenge at Guylou's Inimitability is UMBRELLAS. Your project needs to have an umbrella somewhere on it. Easy, right? Well, not for me... I got caught up in life and didn't make a card for the new challenge.  BOO!!  :(   But, I have a mini plan to make up for it. Since I didn't make my card, I'd like you to enter for me! Enter the challenge and comment here that you did. Once the challenge is over (April 21 @10 pm EST), I'll pick 2 commenters to get their choice of stamp from GI! Sorry DT buddies; you don't count! :D

Oh, big congrats to Sara! She's now on the GI Design Team!!

I didn't forget!

...but I was supposed to schedule this post in advance. I just didn't get around to it. So, without keeping you waiting any longer, here's this week's sketch from The Outlawz:

And here's my card:

I'm on a getaway, so I'm keeping it short. Stamps from Sandylion. Stars and planet stamped with Colorbox ink. Planet didn't stamp well, so I used Spica pens and a white pastel to help it out. Robot stamped on silver paper with Vivid Black (yeah, it's grey though) and shadowed with Copics (markers + multiliner) Sentiment printed using a font from kevinandamanda.com (I think), and the bg panel is a piece of Halloween paper from K & Co cut with a Nestability.

I hope to see you in the challenge! (So I'm on vaca, but I'm always checking email. I'll know if you enter the challenge.) This month, Sandi is giving a digi to everyone who enters a sketch challenge. Plus, there's an SCACD $25 gift certificate and a Copic ABS from Oozak up for grabs. And if you're a member of The Outlawz but have never entered a challenge, there's a challenge just for you! (Oozak is sponsoring, and it's ANYTHING GOES!!)

Oh, I've Missed You!

Gee whiz! I took a getaway and didn't get back in time for my Wednesday post. And I'm about to run away again.  So, let me stuff some things in here...

First, here's this week's sketch from The Outlawz:
I kinda didn't do a good job of following the sketch this week. I was trying to remember the elements instead of looking for the printed version. FAIL!

Here are some wine charms I made for my cousin's birthday using Flirty Anya from The Greeting Farm, a sheet of ShrinkyDinks, Staz-On ink, and my Staedlter colored pencils:

Sorry for the bad picture, but they're reflective. (I also didn't bother editing this picture...) And still aren't finished. You know how you're supposed to poke holes before you bake your ShrinkyDinks? Well, poke a real hole. Don't try to be cute like me and make little holes. It was my first time; I definitely learned the lesson. I have to find my monofilament to see if I can salvage the ones with teeny holes.

A big thank you to Linda at Lindy's Maid Wid Luv for sending me some seriously cute stick pens. Also, I've received a couple of blog awards that I have been meaning to get handled. As much as I love being awarded, it feels like homework when I have to go through all the steps some of these things have. But don't stop sending them!! :D  So, first I have the Liebster Blog Award. I got this one from Gina and Chiffon - thanks ladies!! This blog is for smaller blogs (under 300 followers). It's a chance to share some blog love and introduce our readers to blogs that they might not have discovered yet.

As a recipient of this award I must share the love and pay it forward by:

1-Creating a post where you blog about the Liebster award & and reveal your 3-5 blog picks
2-Let them know you chose them
3-Copy & paste the blog award on your blog
4-Have faith that your followers will rally & show their crafty love back out to those you awarded
5-Have fun!

So here are some blogs I think you should visit: First, you should go to Gina and Chiffon's blogs. I know that's kinda like cheating, but I really don't know how they aren't over the limit for this award already... I'm also passing this over to Candy at Purple Card Lady and Alethea at LiLo Designs.  Check them out!

I have another award I need to post, but I feel like this is too long already! Katrina (FlutterbyTrina), I'm coming!  :)
