Note to Self...

Stop trying new techniques hours before a card is due... :D  I was trying to figure out what I wanted to make for this week's sketch challenge at The Outlawz.

Well, after flipping through some stamps, I found a set that was talking to me. (I tried to find a picture online, but that was pretty much a bust.) I was going to make a card with a spinner with the sentiment on it, but (yes, another "but") I would have had to make a huge card with these itty bitty stamps. So, I decided to find a way to spin the images. I'm not sure if I'd ever seen a viewmaster card before, but after putting in a couple of different terms in Google, I finally stumbled upon the right words and found tutorials! Unfortunately, I decided I wanted my card to work how I wanted and not how the tutorials did... More work for me! Anyway, here's what I came up with. Please note, it isn't right, so the card front came off immediately after the picture was taken.

Yeah, I'll have to fix that part that is used for spinning...  ;D  The other two stamps are a popsicle (cool) and an ice cream cone (sweet). The set is from Studio G, and the papers are from Fly a Kite by My Mind's Eye/Lime Twist.

Anyway, come play in a challenge or two or seven at The Outlawz! This month, we have site-wide prizes from Oozak, Paper Temptress, SCACD, and Gilli!

  2. I had to laugh, because I have done the same thing (tried a new technique at the last minute). I feel you on what happens when we do that!!! I love your card, though. The spinner idea with this stamp set is a great idea. I love your paper choices, too.

  6. What a fun idea!! I've never tried one of these either and I agree, I never get a new card style down the first time I try, but then again.. I have a hard time cutting straight lines even with a cutter ;p
